On November 28, the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) foiled an attempt by militants to launch an attack on some of its positions north of the Christian town of Mahardah in the northern Hama countryside, according to the Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA).
“Units of the army, situational north of the town of Mahardah, conducted accurate strikes against a terrorist group that was sneaking through the farmland around the village of al-Jisat towards military positions in the area,” the SANA’s reporter in Hama said.
The failed attack on Mahardah was not the first one. Last September, the militants launch several cluster rockets at the town killing nine civilians and injuring many other. Most of the victims were reportedly women and children.
Despite the recent Russian-Turkish deconfliction agreement, which established a “demilitarized zone” in northern Hama, the militants continued their attacks on the populated areas there.
These repeated violations of the deconfliction agreement will likely continue until the SAA and its allies make the decision to launch a military operation against the militants in northwestern Syria.
good work SAA keep it up.
Syrians killing Syrians why does Assad refuse to negotiate in good faith. Over half a million Syrians have already died because Assad refuses to share his absolute power now he is going for half a million more.
Assad is fighitng, among others, ISIS, SDF and HTS, not his own people. Saying that syria is in a civil war, is just repeating MSM, there is no civil war in Syria, there is a war against several terroist groups, several, if not all of them, is clearly supported by the West.
And there is no “Moderate Groups”, they are called rebels and groups by MSM/the West but everyone know they are terrorist groups.
