Following the previous gains in northern Hama, the Syrian army and the National Defense Forces (NDF) continued operations against the joint forces of Ahar al-Sham, Jabhat al-Nusra, the Free Syrian Army (FSA) and linked militant groups.
The army and the NDF seized the highway barier, the nearby hilltop and the Bansal school at the Aleppo-Hama highway south of the militant-contolled town of Morek.
Earlier this wee, the government foces also seized two imporatnt hills – Tell Bazam and Tell Masin – north of the town of Souran.
The army and the NDF keep the initiative in the province.
ok, now i think this is the reason for the halt in the aleppo offensive operation. the liberation of aleppo is just a matter of time which can’t be reversed. so they are concentrating in hama region and ghouta region. there wasn’t any progress in that area with such a speed. the speed of the offensive by pro syrian forces is indeed surprising. this could indicate that a lot of terrorist forces left that region to take part in the aleppo operation, or due to the aleppo operation there aren’t as much back up as there used to be so the front is collapsing.at the same time a lot of pro government forces seem to be transfered to that region. so don’t be unhappy about the pause in aleppo offense. i would also wish to see aleppo fully liberated but if the terroists are obsessed with something which is technically almost impossible, why not make a use of that situation.
