The 5th Armored Division of the Syrian Arab Army is going to launch a large-scale offensive to capture the strategic town of Ibta in central Daraa. The upcoming offensive became possuble due to the recent success of pro-government forces in the region, including seizing the Ibta military base.
On September 6, the SANA news agency published online a video, showing the recently captured military base and the town of Ibta in the background. Various pro-government sources argue that the offensive on Ibta is expected in coming days.
