Syrian Army Hammers Militant Positions In Idlib, Lattakia

On April 11 morning, the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) shelled militants’ positions in the northwestern Syrian region of Greater Idlib with dozens of rockets.

According to the UK-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR), intense rocket strikes targeted the town of al-Bara in the southern Idlib countryside as well as the Hdadah hilltop in the northern countryside of Lattakia.

“There is no information about any causalities [as a result of the shelling],” the monitoring group said in its report.

Opposition sources called the shelling was a violation of the ceasefire brokered by Russia and Turkey on March 5. However, the SAA was likely responding to recent violations by radical militants hiding in Greater Idlib.

Militants fighting for al-Qaeda-affiliated groups attacked SAA positions and troops with sniper rifles, mortars and even anti-tank guided missiles (ATGMs) on several occasions during the last few weeks.

While the March 5 agreement is holding up for the most part, it could collapse soon. Turkey, which promised to reopen the Lattakia-Aleppo highway known as the M4 and neutralize radicals in the area, is yet to fulfill its commitments.

Jacob Wohl

Regime better be careful, otherwise Turkish drones will pay them a visit and make it 10,000 eliminated this time instead of 5,000

Cromwell

Go for it TURD.

Icarus Tanović

What a stupid prick he is.

John Wallace

The Unimaginative Ridiculous Dipstick.. or TURD for short.

John Wallace

So last time the SAA eliminated 5,000 drones and this time you expect them to eliminate 10,000 .. If they did that how many drones would Turkey have left and would it be fair to leave them with so few.

Mr T

to the experts (assadists, iranians pls dont reply): how many assad soldiers were dead due to the Idlib operation of Turkey? Any reliable source? thanks.

Azriel Herskowitz

Ceasefire broken again by Assadist militants. Turkey needs to put those drones back up in the sky and watch how Assadists will run.

John Wallace

Welcome back Azriel,. I thought you must have been lost and I was so worried about you. The other day I coughed up a load of phlegm onto the footpath and I thought where is Azriel when you need someone to suck it up.

John Wallace

al-Qaeda-affiliated groups were never part of the agreement other than that they can and will be attacked whenever it suits the SAA. So if they are being attacked then no ceasefire agreement has been broken and all claims by idiots to the contrary are null and void.
