The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) intercepted drones launched from Greater Idlib and carried out strikes against militants occupying the region, the Syrian Ministry of Defense said on February 25.
The ministry said in a statement that the army’s air defenses shot down seven drones that attempted to target towns and military sites in the countryside of Idlib and Hama. The ministry shared photos showing the wreckage of downed drones, some of which were commercially-available models while others were apparently made locally in Greater Idlib.
In a later statement, the ministry announced that the SAA carried out a series of strikes against militants’ sites and equipment in the countryside of Idlib and Lattakia in response to the recent violation of the ceasefire in Greater Idlib. Dozens of militants were killed, according to the ministry.
Video footage released by the ministry showed a number of pinpoint artillery and missile strikes on frontline positions, vehicles and militants.
Al-Qaeda-affiliated Tahrir al-Sham, the de-facto ruler of Greater Idlib, and its allies stepped up attacks on nearby areas in recent months in a blatant violation of the ceasefire in the region which was brokered by Turkey and Russia more than three years ago.
While tensions remain high in Greater Idlib, the SAA and its allies will not likely launch a ground operation in the region any time soon due to several reasons.
A ground operation in Greater could lead to a dangerous confrontation with Turkey who keeps large forces there. Such a confrontation wont serve any side currently.
The SAA is now focusing its attention on its south front as Israel continues its war on the Palestinian Gaza Strip and makes more threats against Hezbollah in Lebanon. Meanwhile, the Russian military is intensifying its operations against Kiev forces in Ukraine.

i gonna say it again like years ago… the free syrian army backing israel (they are western proxy in syria like sdf)… funny isn’t it? “i’m an arab and i support israel”… one of these clown tweeted.
oh boy who support these apes…? the us, uk, turkey, qatar, france, germany, ksa and jordan… lmfao.
they are clearly mixed with apes, what gives them zero empathy and what helps them to control the world infrastructure, like they are doing now.
more drones, more attacks. why are the israeli airfields so sacred? just think, with many millions of jews coming to israel, fleeing for the migrants, their army will also become a lot bigger.
good question palestinians never attack the airfields
