According to the Hezbollah media wing in Syria, on Thursday, the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) and its allies captured several hills near the Sukhna gas field, just 2 km east of Sokhna town. According to some other sources, government forces even entered the gas field area.
According to SAA sources, Sukhna has become within the range of the SAA artillery and sources expect that the SAA will start its direct attack on the town within days. However, several pro-government sources confirmed that the city is full of fortifications and that ISIS has planted hundreds of mines and IEDs inside it, which will make the SAA task even more complex.
The SAA also captured a number of positions near the strategic Al-Rubiat mountain, which is 11 km from Sukhna town in the southwestern direction.
In the southeastern countryside of Raqqa, the SAA, the Tiger Forces and tribal forces have captured Rjam al-Suliman village located east of Al-Salam Alaikum village and Al-Kharz village north of Al-Salam Alaikum village.
Pro-government sources denied that the SAA entered the Dir Ezzor province from the province of Raqqah. According to uninformed reports, the SAA started storming Zour Shamar and Ghanem al-Ali villages in the western bank of the Euphrates River.
From its side, ISIS claimed that its fighters managed to repel an attempt to advance by the Tiger Forces south of the Al-Rashida area in the southeastern Raqqa countryside.
ISIS also claimed that 5 Syrian soldiers were killed during the clashes, and that ISIS members damanged a SAA tank and destroyed an armoured vehicle with ATGMs south of Ghanim al-Ali village.
Remember when ISIS gained ground in Deir Ezzor. https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/84e12b3abbbf04340b123fc50f95b21d54a23972f37ff8a20b3ac393fb8f4432.jpg
It looks like this may be the rout to reach Deir Azur.
Fights inside Soukhna will be very hard when SAA and allies don’ t decide to encircle it and let the ISIS fighters starve inside. A battle for Soukhna will take longer than for Ma’ adan through the Tigers. So it seems that Suheil meets Issam first.
Yes I say lay siege to it and starve them.
This is the future of ISUS trash in Sukhmah HAHA https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/96e01e76064a6bbaf7951f0779626d5e59f6c6bd8bd142f8484d2042b7ec0cc3.jpg
Good good they took Satih mountain first, looks good maybe just ring Sukhna and skip it until they have starved for a few months.
ISIS fighters will die in Sukhana if they stay there , they should also make graves for themselves they are death is guaranteed and in short time too. The SAA has the advantage to turn it into a cauldron of no escape for those who stay.
