The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) is preparing to enter the city of Manbij, which is controlled by the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), the Russian RT TV reported on December 27 citing Syrian activists.
According to the activists, the SAA deployed additional units of the elite Republican Guards west of Manbij in the last few hours. A day earlier, hundreds of well-equipped soldiers from the 1st Division and the Republican Guards were deployed in the same area.

On the other side of the border, Turkey continued its military buildup in the southern province of Kilis and deployed more than ten modernized battle tanks and several armored vehicles and bulldozers. These forces are expected to participated in the upcoming attack against Kurdish forces in Manbij.
Last week, a spokeswoman for SDF said that the group does not oppose the return of the Damascus government’s institutions to Manbij. A deal between the Kurdish-dominated group and the government will likely prevent a Turkish attack. However, local observers believe that the SDF will have to compromise on the “self-administration” issue.
This is huge progress if it happens.
americunts delaying SAA handover as long as possible. They’d rather see their kurdish allies be wiped out and manbij under turkish regime control than under rightful Syrian Govt control.
SAA and the Russians have been mobilizing in the area of Manbij for the last few days, where are the Turks and their FSA proxies? A Turkish delegation will go to Moscow in couple of days for consultations on the matter.
turkish regime has over 100 tanks stationed outside Manbij alongside, 3000 TSA, 10000+ FSA. They are ready to commence operations. US delaying handover as long as possible. Time is running out for ypg.
What does outside of Manbij constitute? I don’t know where you are getting your numbers from, it is very likely that SAA along with the Russians are sealing the southern front of the FSA preventing a southern deployment along M4 by entering Arima, and SDF has enough real estate north of Manbij for a defensive stand utilizing ATGMs on any road traffic north of Manbij. YPG and Damascus will cooperate and eventually come to a political agreement.
Yes and Syria controls the airspace, rockets and artillery.
Cooperate with terrorist? just mop the bastard if you don’t turk will do
And yet the Syrians and Ruussians have not moved in. As for Turk tanks they can be kbocked out by Kornets atgms. Easy.
You are a person.
This is going to be Afrin 2.0, SDF is taking way too long time and way too many unacceptable propositions in their negotiation with SAA. It is all about them getting a separate state from Syria, no wonder the negotiations fail every time…
Kurds should never get a separate state in Syria. If they want one they can carve it out of Turkey with full rights for Christians …otherwise fckoff!
???
Excellent news, let us see how this evolves.
Don’t be too impatient people, the Russians and SAA can only move in after the US vacate, so far they seem to be slipping straight into their shoes as soon as they can, but you can’t put 2 feet in the same shoe, be patient.
Don’t be deceived. There is no Turks operation. Its purpose already achieved. YPG has handed over manbij. detailed investigation of what happened during the war can commence by russia
