On February 18, a militant was killed and another was injured in the northwestern region of Greater Idlib when the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) targeted a bulldozer they were manning with an anti-tank guided missile (ATGM).
The militants were reportedly building fortifications in the outskirts of the town of Maaret Elnaasan in the eastern Idlib countryside.
The ATGM strike was apparently a response to recent violations of the ceasefire in Greater Idlib, which was brokered by Russia and Turkey on March 5 of last year.
A number of SAA positions in the towns of Mizanaz, Jdariya and east of Maaret Elnaasan were shelled by the militants before the strike. No human losses were reported.
Earlier this week, the Russian Reconciliation Center for Syria announced that al-Qaeda-affiliated Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham and its allies violated the ceasefire agreement in Grater Idlib 35 times in the recent days.
Turkey, which maintains a fairly large force in Greater Idlib, does nothing to stop these violations. This may soon lead to a new military confrontation between the SAA and Turkish forces in the region. Such a confrontation would be costly for both sides.
…And SAA are not miltant:(
No, it brings freedom and democracy ;)
For who?
For the opressed.
The SAA is holding the line, as the US/UK associated terror gangs are being funded again. The year 2021 will be pivotal on all sorts of ways.
