The Syrian army raided on several terrorist positions near Jabal al-Tharda, al-Banurma, and Madrasa al-Siyaqa in the southern area of Deir Ezzor.
Today, Al-Manar television channel of Lebanon reported that the Syrian army forces have engaged in a fight with ISIS terrorist in a southeastern area of Homs Province in western Syria.
The Lebanese media also reported that an ISIS leader was killed by Syrian forces missile and artillery attacks near the town of Jaroud Qara and the western al-Qalamoun region.
The SANA news agency also reported that the Syrian army raided on several terrorist positions near Jabal al-Tharda, al-Banurma, and Madrasa al-Siyaqa in the southern area of Deir Ezzor.
According to the SANA news agency, the Syrian killed several terrorists, destroying two machine gun mounted vehicles and a stolen oil tanker on the al-Taim field road near the al-Shoula village.
Yesterday, IHS Jane’s published a report where it claimed that since the beginning of 2015, ISIS had lost 22 percent of territory it occupied in Syria and neighboring Iraq.
For nearly five years, Syria has been observing a deadly conflict it blames on certain foreign states. At least 470,000 people have been killed and millions have been displaced in the Arab country, according to a February report by the Syrian Center for Policy Research. The conflict has also taken a heavy toll on the country’s infrastructure.
Nevertheless, the Arab country is currently observing an agreement for the cessation of hostilities which entered into force on February 27. The agreement stipulates the cessation of all military hostilities in Syria, except for the operations against ISIS terrorist group and al-Qaeda-linked al-Nusra Front militants.
The agreement was negotiated by Russia and the United States. Many suggest that Washington is among the main supporters of terrorists fighting against the Syrian government forces.
