Syrian Army Launches Military Operation To Secure Homs And Deir Ezzor Deserts, Captures 2000km2 (Map)

On December 10, the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) and Hezbollah launched a military operation to eliminate the remaining ISIS fighters in the eastern Homs desert and the Deir Ezzor desert, according to pro-government sources.

The Hezbollah media wing in Syria announced that the SAA has liberated over 2000km2 between the T-2 station and the city of al-Bukamal in the Deir Ezzor desert. The SAA and its allies advanced about 18km during the first day of their military operation.

The US-led coalition had claimed on December 5 that around 3000 ISIS fighters remained in Syria and Iraq. According to this, at least 1,000-1,500 fighters of ISIS should be stationed in the east Homs desert now.

From its side, the ISIS-linked news agency Amaq didn’t report any attack against the SAA in the last 72 hours. This indicates that the terrorist group is likely facing nootable difficulties in the desert.

Many pro-movement activists believe that the remaining ISIS fighters will not be able to organize an effective defense against the SAA due to the severe climatic and geographical conditions in the east Homs and Deir Ezzor deserts.

Poor ISIS rats in the desert with winter here!

Justin

Good point. Desert nights are chilling. Like being in snow. They will be out of ammunition due to almost no weapons stores. Probably already injured, cold and hungry. Probably crying because it was a false caliph and failed caliphate. Which means perhaps their god doesn’t like them. They will have doubts in their mind about everything lol.

gustavo

However, we must take into account that Israel-USA-NATO could ship them “somehow” winter equipment and weapons. You never know what madness is capable to do.

TiredOfBsToo

Good news indeed. There’s only one way to handle such low level scum, to paraphrase Putin…. It’s my job to send them to god and his job to judge them. Not only that, but the scum are eager to die. It’s a win win for everybody.

FlorianGeyer

I always hoped that a desert pocket would become the killing field of the ISIS monsters. Parched bones in the sand are fitting end for the US/Israeli project .

Haimgard

If they had such a force – why would they stay in desert without food and water. They could just punch trough SAA defences in one point and leave for Jordan. Why would Isis leave behind such a force to linger and die in desert if they can use them somewhere else.. North Africa for instance

Barba_Papa

On the one hand most of the more important rats have already left for greener pastures. Or gone into hiding as sleeper cells. On the other hand ISIS’s command structure has probably collapsed, leaving units in the field to fend for themselves. And on the other other hand they don’t think like logical commanders would, who think in terms of force preservation and saving the lives of their men, these guys think in götterdammerung style endings. In which case its now the job of these troops to go out with a bang and kill as many enemies as possible. Preferably Ruskies.

@Inc2Get

Reports suggests that the Syrian desert only withholds approximately 300 ISIS fighters. The rest of the fighters have either joined the SDF, fled as civilians or/and, majority of them joined the battle in Idlib province by tunnels. The latter is the most credible. The SAA should clear the desert fast then ultimately eliminate ISIS cells in the desert, redeploy troops to Idlib province, attack HTS on several fronts while they battle with ISIS branch in the fronts. We all know that HTS is stronger than ISIS, that is why an ISIS advance in the province will relief the SAA of pressure from HTS and they will easily advance. The SDF should clear the rest of the syrian desert in eastern euphrates but it seems like the US coalition wants to stay in Syria and that is why they will pro-long the advances because they don´t want to leave it until the war is over, so their companies can send their oil/gas companies to Syria. Much like Iraq war. What the SAA should do after Idlib is cross the river and liberate the rest of ISIS held desert in the Euphrates. This way, the US will lack any excuse to stay in Syria.

Richard M

Tunnel from DeZ to Idlib? :D

gustavo

Yes, that is really interesting. Someone needs to learn something about geography.

Richard M

Next “Inc2Get” will tell us about the Daesh Moon Base! :D

gustavo

USA can invent any excuse to be there. Do not put attention to her excuse, USA must leave because she must leave, nobody invited her.

Richard M

They aren’t too popular with Jordan’s government. After burning their pilot alive they can expect a warm reception there.

Gregory Louis

They can sneak across with migrants…maybe or just die in the desert either way they’re gone out of Syria….ISIS already gave up on Operations in Syria though….Libya’s their next target wish some people who where Pro-Gadhaffi would still be somewhere in that godforsaken place

northerntruthseeker .

If you actually believe that video of that burning pilot was real, then I have a pyramid in Egypt to sell to you!

Richard M

Yes. Terrorism is a myth. Salafism is a club like Kiwanis or Elks. Wahhabis are all about peace and love!!! :D

Attrition47

Perhaps their leaders are selling them out to American Caesar to save their skins?

Sinbad2

Caesar Caligula Nero the second.

Justin

IRGC and Hezbollah will capture, interrogate and torture these rats.
