On Friday, the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) and the National Defense Forces (NDF) captured the strategic town of Rahjan located north of Sarha village in the northeastern Hama countryside, according to the Hezbollah media wing in Syria. The SAA also captured the village of Arafa north of the village of Hazem, according to the source.
Meanwhile, opposition sources said that Syrian warplanes bombed positions of Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) in Khan Shaykhun town and Zakat village in the northern Hama countryside.
The HTS-linked news agency Iba’a reported that HTS fighters repelled two attacks of the SAA around the villages of Rabda and Qasir Ali. Iba’a claimed that 8 soldiers of the SAA were killed during the clashes around Qasir Ali.
HTS and its allies from the US-backed Free Syrian Army (FSA) groups of Jaysh al-Nasr and the the Free Idlib Army claimed that they destroyed two tanks of the SAA and damaged another with TOW ATGMs. However, the photos and videos released by the three groups showed only one tank being destroyed.
The current SAA military operation in the northern and northeastern Hama countrysides is aimed at capturing the strategic Abu al-Duhur town and securing the Aleppo-Hama highway.
I hope the soldier shown in the video made it out of the tank safely!
Hope so too
Abu duhur airbase that’s the goal!!! Don’t lose sight of this goal!!
That’s still a long way away if I look at the map and the progress that has been made. The Tigers would need to redeploy here for that to happen anytime soon.
But it will be made!!!
