After the liberation of al-Hamidiyah neighborhood, the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) and its allies continued their advance in Deir Ezzor city and liberated the neighborhood of Sheikh Yassin from ISIS. Furthermore, government troops entered the neighborhoods of Ardhi and Rashdiyah where they attacked the remaining ISIS positions.
The advance is spearheaded by units of the SAA Tiger Forces and the Republican Guard and supported by Russian military advisers.
If the government advance keeps its momentum, the entire Deir Ezzor city will be liberated within few days.
nice, nice, but snowwhite is nicer
Syrian Army liberates 90 % of Deir Ezzor city
Syrian Army captures 97% of Deir Ezzor City, ISIS on its last legs
I hope the war will speed up after this in Syria and in Iraq.
Only the first phase of the war will be over once ISIS is gone. Then phase 2 of political economic and military pressure to persuade the Kurds to accept a federal Syria where they get some kind of limited autonomy and the Kurdish language in Syria recognized as a second official language along with Arabic etc. like in Iraq. Even after the Kurds surrender their territory to the SAA and accept some kind of limited autonomy there will then be a third phase a guerilla war for probably at least 2 years until the SAA can get up to full strength at least 150,000 plus soldiers who will be needed to sweep the countryside for the remaining ISIS cells etc. and to secure the borders.
Good work SAA!
