On February 15, the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) and its allies liberated the town of Kafr Naha in the western countryside of Aleppo.
According to pro-government sources, army units stormed the town in the early hours of the morning. Kafr Naha was fully secured following several hours of heavy clashes with al-Qaeda-affiliated Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) and Turkish-backed factions.
Meanwhile, the army resumed its advance in eastern Idlib, capturing the town of Maaret Elnaasan. From the town, the army imposed fire control of the Taftanaz Air Base, where a large Turkish force is deployed.

Earlier today, the army, supposedly backed by the Kurdish People’s Protection Units (YPG), opened a new front against HTS and Turkish-backed groups in the northwestern Aleppo countryside. Heavy clashes are still taking place there.
The army will likely advance further in western Aleppo in the upcoming few hours. The remaining militants’ positions in the region appear to be on the brink of complete collapse.

SAA should take Kafr Noran and go North towards Kafr Amah, Basratoun. Open another front from Kurdish area was good idea and SAA should try again, this will speed up create and eliminate the packets. Aleppo will have uge buffer zone. At least militans have to dedicate more resources to this area. Going west SAA will need rest and rearm. This may will be direct fight with Turkey army. SAA need shorten front line. CLose the south packet wi help SAA shorten the front line
SAA has recaptured Kafr Noran and Ma’rat an-nassan near Taftanaz airport, I think at this stage SAA is doing two things, attempting to cut the highway from Turkey to Idlib and also securing Idlib. I do get the concerns with shortening the front line, but compared to years ago, this is very short. SAA also has the initiative, morale and previous observation posts did not phase them and neither are the new ones.
Opening of the front from Kurdish area was probably a tactical one, to keep them guseeing, what they really need is to finalise the battle of the heights in Latakia.
After this is all over, it would be interesting to see the Turks marched to the border and leave thei equipment behind.
Looks like the long frontline actually benefits the SAA now since they have more manpower compared to terrorist gangs.

It may look long but it is short, compared to years ago. Khan Sheikoun to Aleppo is 121km, the fighting is mainly happening around a 20km stretch. SAA does well with these sorts of frontlines. They like to move and attack where they feel like attacking, especially the Tigers. I do agree the front line needs to get shorter.

I have got the feelings that SAA will clear the following 3 locations preferably in the given order below :
1)- Taftanaz 2)- Mansoura 3)- Atarib
before cleaning the Taftanaz Airbase from its current tenants.
