Does it have oil and gas to feed the Syrian people? No? Than it is worthless waste of time and resources.

Gjergj

It has strategic importance. Controlling the border with Jordan, and putting pressure on US to leave Al Tanaf.

dutchnational

No strategic importance at all. It can be taken any time.

Waste of precious manpower while cities like Qaratayn are retaken by IS, while the main supplyroute to DeZ is cut, Assad gives away Idlib province to Turkey to never get it back etc etc.

Awful decision making.

John Whitehot

oh really. tell us about the manpower. How many men and units were tied up in this area etc etc.

dutchnational

Even a squad is too many.

So, waste of manpower.

Ice Icegold

You are so funny trying to lower our moral. Why don’t you go to Amsterdam in a coffee shop take some drugs , you have a lot there.Maybe your mind starts working normal again…lol

Jens Holm

It certainly would high You improved and made better victories faster – Wouldnt it.

Many many experts as well as many normal people liking warfare as a hobby has been reading and writing about relative simple facts and see the same SAA cant and dont.

Dont blame Dutchnational as well as fx me for those elementary vital lack in SAA and reduce improvements into people are dying happy or not as spendables.

Moussa Saab

It looks like dutchnational has got a new friend.

Jens Holm

I know him well. He is hardly a friend but in several matters we agree very much in others we are almost antagonists.

I think he is a nice guy too.

John Whitehot

I would not take any advice from people “liking warfare”.

Jens Holm

When You ask for estimated or proven numbers a minumum would be to tell, where exact it is.

Terra Cotta Woolpuller

Tiger forces are everywhere as these units are just configurations in the new Syria army and will remain , they follow like the Russians and other countries that have switched to or are switching to these configurations. The US still lags behind in their reconfiguration process which wont be until 2025 as they are pretty much like the ones in the mid east now.

Canada will finish this year after adding in their air components to the last brigade, smaller armies always adapt quicker to the indoctrination and training, the Russians will be done by 2019.

Terra Cotta Woolpuller

They really never had to pull anyone but the Tiger forces which went and helped with the counter attack and have advance on Al Mayadin, from Deir Ezzor.

dutchnational

Report of SF on SAA, some two months ago.

Terra Cotta Woolpuller

Problem is that was standing Army as it does not include reservists and decommissioned units as they had decommissioned those from Deir Ezzor recently. They likely will reform and commission another unit, but these guys need a break and they will take it for the time.

Volker Burkert

So you should be happy as supporter of ISIS and other terrorist groups. Don’t pretend you look at the military situation in a neutral way or to criticize the Syrian government and SAA for what you say is giving away Idlib province to Turkey. The global map tells the truth. Over 80% of Syria has been liberated, and the remainder will follow even if it takes another year.

Jens Holm

Very easy to critiseize an army, which hasnt improved since 1967 exept producing more gas used at its own people.

Clive Hurston

Buddy, some very knowledgeable and experienced US military leaders have stated publicly and off the record that the Syrian Arab Army is possibly the best Arab army in the ME.. .

Jens Holm

Thats not telling much. Im sure Turks can take most of syria any time they wish and Israel can make great parts into stoneage fast if they wish too.

If ISIS(now lefovers) and SDF were given better weapons, they were much better then Yours and could they beat SAA as they wish.

Terra Cotta Woolpuller

The SDF nor ISIS wouldn’t be able to beat a drum even if it was full of oil if they had better equipment. Jens you sound like the US with better equipment we could be better, that’s just a cop out for lack of military training and indoctrination.

The better trained the army the better the army is how come in Military games it’s the better trained army that wins here is an example at task given 45 Canadians in Georgia in 1998 was to capture 500 US marines, guess who achieved their goal and who didn’t these are just one of the early games where a country lacked better equipment but had superior training.

Bob

Ah, the old US driven SAA gas-attack canard-narrative strikes again… C’mon, it has been quite clear for some time it was Al Nusra with Turkish intelligence assistance that launched the mortar fired gas shells in East Ghouta. Whilst the more recent ridiculous Trump cruise missile episode was again after an Al Nusra/HTS weapons depot in Idlib was hit with a conventional bomb by SyAF. That conventional bomb hit an Al Nusra/HTS arms depot with dry chlorine stocks that they have been using in their mortar shells for years – and were notorious for firing from their positions in east Aleppo into SAA held, civilian districts, of west Aleppo. Needless to say, Al Nusra/HTS house their weapons and bomb making factories among civilian homes to afford greater civilian shielding from bombing – hence when the chlorine stocks were hit in Idlib the chemical plume arose from that source a residential area. Enough with the silly gas-attack canards…

Terra Cotta Woolpuller

They even found no link to the SyAAF bombing or Russian both happened hours later after the alleged attack. The experts have discounted any munitions hitting the site. Think they were trying to kill Denki commanders and covered it up as a gas attack and used the ransom prisoners they killed by over dosing them, White helmets captured 250 people in the area before hand.

John Whitehot

Jens, you are emitting back-aching sounds, do you realize it?

dutchnational

I support SDF which should be no surprise to anyone having read my comments. My support is based as much as possible on trying to remain objective, something mostly lacking here, just like you are not objective.

As for liberating, yes look at the map and see most of the liberating outside of empty desert has been done by SDF.

Terra Cotta Woolpuller

I concur you are most lacking in objectivity , you need to learn to measure combat effectiveness which you seem to lack the ability to do and run on emotion.

Clive Hurston

General dutchnational has spoken his strategic words of wisdom yet again. You shouldn’t be spending so much time on your laptop buddy ..you should be on the frontlines fighting ISIS

John Whitehot

no please it would spell disaster

Clive Hurston

How long do you think he would last on the frontlines against Daesh? It would improve our comments sections immeasurably …

Jens Holm

I agree in those parts of Durtchnational. Too much from SAA is about honor and old memories more then winning the war.

dutchnational

Sergeant suits me fine.

Do you make the same comment to ranters here advocating genocide of all opposition starting with kurds?

Please give me the info.

John Whitehot

by the way, road to Deir-ezzoir is reopened. https://www.almasdarnews.com/article/breaking-syrian-army-annihilates-isis-reopens-deir-ez-zor-highway/

Jens Holm

Thats expected.

dutchnational

Correct : no. Not as of sunday evening, which is 19 hrs ago.

Terra Cotta Woolpuller

That was on the 29th of September nearly 3 days ago.

John Whitehot

you can stay with amaq and other jihadist medias while i stay with almasdar.

in the end Syria wins anyway.

John Whitehot

I thought the US already left AlTanf? Or did just they reduce their presence?

Moussa Saab

The syrian army strategy is awesome; -First they either encircle an area -Then they use their advantage of fire power and military equipment to wear out the encircled and poorly equipped militants before the major operations begin. -Capturing the desert/easily traversable land using air power and armored vehicles, limiting the freedom of movement for the terrorists inside the pocket. -Then capturing the most strategic place in that area, collapsing the defenses in the nearby villages. -Chipping away and finally eliminating remaining militants in the villages/cities using elite forces. This has worked pretty well in places such as aleppo/homs countryside, and in other places like sweida which is still ongoing and in homs.

dutchnational

Awesome…

Putin's baby

Bomb the shite out of yank force illegally there!!

Cheryl Brandon

Well done SAA. I see you and Iraqi forces are moving in the same direction. It would be great cause, 2 armies fighting 1 SDF snake will get better results; Keep fighting on. You are are the sons of the soil and, the soldiers who have the mandate from your fellow Syrians to liberate Syria on their behalf!Bravo and keep fighting!
