In a Thursday statement, a military source said that the Syrian army soldiers have cleared several villages and areas of ISIS terrorists in the northern province of Aleppo.

Syria’s official news agency SANA reported that the Syrian army units established control over the villages of Haiyat kabeera, Haiyat Sagheera, Zabad al-Taweeleh, al-Qleah, Heleh, Hakeel and Kherbet al-Mous as well as Dareehem field and al-Bohouth Hill after fierce clashes with ISIS terrorists.

According to the report, the liberated areas extend 12 kilometers long and 9 kilometers wide to the east of the Khanasir city.

There are also reports that, in the west-central Hama Province, the Syrian forces killed more than 70 Nusra Front terrorists and destroyed five vehicles equipped with machine guns.

The Syrian forces with the help of Russian Aerospace Defense Forces have recently been making rapid advances against terrorists, who are committing heinous crimes against all religious groups, in several parts of the crisis-hit country.

At the request of the Damascus government, Russia began air assault in Syria on several terrorist groups including ISIS and Al-Qaeda affiliated Jabath Al Nusra on September 30, 2015

For nearly five years, Syria has been observing a deadly conflict it blames on certain foreign states.  At least 470,000 people have been killed and millions have been displaced in the Arab country, according to a February report by the Syrian Center for Policy Research. The conflict has also taken a heavy toll on the country’s infrastructure.

However, the Arab country is currently observing an agreement for the cessation of hostilities which entered into force on February 27. The agreement stipulates the cessation of all military hostilities in Syria, except for the operations against ISIS terrorist group and al-Qaeda-linked al-Nusra Front militants.

The agreement was negotiated by Russia and the United States. Many suggest that Washington is among the main supporters of terrorists fighting against the Syrian government forces.
