On August 9, the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) and local fighters liberated 2,000km2 of the northern al-Suwayda countryside in the framework of their operation against ISIS cells in the region, according to Sham Hamdan, a reporter for the Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA).

A day earlier, the SAA reached the areas of Dahrat Rashid, al-Naima, al-Salasil and al-Sawut in the northern al-Suwayda countryside.

Syrian pro-government activists said that the SAA secured most of the area of al-Kar’a and reached the heavily fortified area of al-Safa. According to local sources, the remaining fighters of ISIS are currently hiding in al-Safa.

So far, ISIS fighters have been avoiding any confrontation with the SAA and running away towards al-Safa. This will likely change in the upcoming hours as the SAA is preparing to attack the fortified area.

As the SAA continues its rapid advance, the fate of more than 30 civilian hostages, who were abducted by ISIS in a terrorist attack two weeks ago, remains unknown. The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) reported that the Damascus government is still negotiating with the terrorist group to free them. However, these claims are yet to be confirmed.

50 km x 40 km = 2,000 km2

Dark clouds of US and Israel are hurling over Syria and whole Middle East. They should be vigilant, red alert and increase security.

The leaderships of Middle East countries are in deep sleep mode because they don’t response that what’s going on around them. They don’t know if their countries went then they will be no more leaders.

I am affraid that, as soon these IS pests are terminated, they will pop up in another area.

Lets see for where the lasts are going to run away if they can (they have the hostages).

That seems to be the pattern doesn’t it? The desert is too vast an area to completely “liberate”, most of them slip away to regroup. If I lived in a village or town bordering these desert areas I’d want to be armed. But Syrian policy does not allow for civilians to be armed does it not?

Of course, they have Israel-USA-NATO support. The point is, Russia-Syria intelligent systems must be capable to detect them and destroy them.

Rob

The intelligence agencies and armies of Middle East countries have failed to free their countries from US backed spies and terrorists.

The US and NATO interference in the USSR and Middle East cost a lot more than they have expected before. That is why the economy and stock market of US have collapsed. I guess that Donald Trump will be the last president of America. Just a clever man need to shake it a little bit.

“Liberated” sounds a bit dramatic. What they’ve probably done is combed through 2000 km2 of terrain. Not that ISIS would have ruled over anything there other than stones & sand, a few ants, lizards and camel spiders (just what they were used to, back home pre- 2011 :D)
