In the early hours of April 20, unknown terrorist ambushed a unit of the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) near the town of al-Saraya in the northern Lattakia countryside.
Syrian pro-government sources reported that five Syrian service members were killed in the ambush. The terrorists reportedly sneaked in from al-Turkman Mount, which is held by forces loyal to the Syrian opposition.
No group has claimed responsibility for the ambush yet. However, some opposition activists said that the attack was likely carried out by al-Qaeda-affiliated Horas al-Din.
Horas al-Din is led by Jordanian Sami al-Oraydi and Syrian Abu Humam al-Shami, both are veterans of the al-Nusra Front [now known as Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham (HTS)]. The terrorist group controls key areas in northern Hama, western Aleppo and it has access to northern Lattakia through the positions of other similar groups, such as Ajnad al-Kavkaz (AK).
The SAA has not responded to this new attack so far. However, the upcoming hours will likely witness artillery strikes and even airstrikes on terrorists’ positions in Idlib.
Surely SAA soldiers were sleeping..without a ring of mine explosives around to protect them..without snipers with termal vision..etc.. as usual in the unprofessional SAA included bad commanders& officers and worst tactics!…
SAA AND RUSSIA NEED TO TAKE IDLIB NOW!!!! THIS WILL ONLY KEEP HAPPENING AND GET WORSE!!! ENOUGH TALK AND DILLY DALLYING FOR GODS SAKES!!! AVENGE YOUR FALLEN SOLDIERS ALREADY!!! SOME ARTY STRIKES HERE AND THERE WONT CUT IT!!!
