The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) has destroyed four vehicles in the militant-held part of the western Aleppo countryside with anti-tank guided missiles (ATGMs) in the last 24 hours.
On May 6th, two vehicles, an SUV and a pickup truck, were targeted by the army on a road leading to the town of al-Atarib. Human losses were reported as a result of the ATGM strikes, with some sources claiming that civilians were among the casualties.

On May 7th, the SAA targeted two other pickup trucks on the same road near al-Ararib. One man was killed. He was a civilian, according to unverified claims.

The army reportedly used Russian-made Kornet-E ATGMs. The laser-guided missile has a range of 5,5 km. A variant with a range of 8 km, dubbed Kornet-EM, has been used by Russian Special Forces in Syria before.

The SAA and its allies have been using ATGMs to respond to the militants’ repeated violations of the ceasefire in the Greater Idlib region, which was brokered by Russia and Turkey last year.
Earlier this week, four militants were killed or injured as a result of ATGM strikes by the SAA on northern Lattakia and northwestern Hama.
