On November 3, the Syrian Army (SAA) detected and targeted a group of militants, which had been preparing to attack some of its positions in the northern Hama countrywide, according to the Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA). As a result, several militants were reportedly killed and injured.
“A unit of the army detected a group of terrorists from Jaysh al-Izza while they were trying to sneak from the southeastern part of the town of al-Lataminah towards military positions around the town … the group was targeted with suitable weapons,” the SANA’s reporter in Hama said.
Jaysh al-Izza, which was backed by U.S., is considered one of the closest allies of Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham (HTS). On November 1, the radical group launched an attack in the southeastern Idlib countryside, during which three Syrian soldiers were killed.
A day earlier, a Syrian source said that the SAA will launch a military operation in northwestern Syria, if the militants there continue to violate the Russian-Turkish deconfliction agreement.
