The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) has officially reopened the strategic M5 highway, Syria’s state TV announced on February 14.
The highway, which links the capital, Damascus, with the northern city of Aleppo, was completely secured by the army and its allies earlier this week.
According to pro-government sources, the M5 is now open for military use only. The highway is in dire need for proper maintenance before it could be opened for civilian traffic again.
A large operation was carried out to reopen the M5. The SAA liberated dozens of areas along the highway, including the cities of Khan Shaykhun, Ma`arat al-Nu`man and Saraqib, from al-Qaeda-affiliated Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) and its Turkish-backed allies.
The reopening of the M5 is a major blow to terrorist groups in Greater Idlib, as well as to Turkey. Ankara made several desperate attempts to keep the SAA from the highway.
It’s funny how CNN reports that ‘Syrian’ civilians are abandoning Idlib towards the Turkish borders… When it’s the HTS-ALQAEDA-ISIS-TURKISH TERRORIST’s families that are actually leaving …

Portraits of Churchill, Roosevelt and Stalin were all over Europe after Nazi-Germany was defeated. So were Europeans ashamed to see those photos? Of course not. Those were the leaders that had liberated them. That’s what you do when other countries liberate your country. Or come to your aid against an invader.
There was no country to hang a flag in the Turkish War of independence because all countries were against Turkey. It is the people who liberate.

Turkey’s support base is high, but some countries ‘ love of Anatolia and Turkish hatred lead them to this murder.
There were other genocides they were involved in besides the Armenian one (although that was the worst, no doubt).
It will save the nation’s independence, again the nation’s final decision and resistance.
What a beautiful picture. It tells the history of Syrian civil war briefly but precisely. If one of them was missing then we would not be celebrating the opening of M5 today.
We are missing Gen. Soleimani.. he should have been included there as well, imo.

I feel that opening of the M5, from Jordanian border to Aleppo!, is an event which is on a par with the liberation of DER EZZOR. When I read the news I was emotinal, as if Syria was my own country. Well done SAA and your allies, nobody can stop you now, you are truly unstopable.
Well, without Iran-Hezbolah-Russia ground troops and Russia airforece there is not way to say just that. Let us give credit to those who also deserve credit.

If at all, then at maximum “had let shot”. From my sources in Damaskus, even that is questionable, as during the shooting on demonstrators the police tried to find the shooters. It looked like the Maidan-script, as I was told.
You can apply that definition to any rally, including that rally of unshaven, dirty drunkards you defend. After all, I, with the symbol of my religion – the cross around my neck, can walk freely on that rally of support for President Assad. Can you guarantee me the same security if I show up at that rally you support?
