Pro-government forces led by the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) Tiger Forces and backed up by the Russian Aerospace Forces have outlfanked from the eastern direction the ISIS-held part of al-Mayadin city in the Euhprates Valley.

According to pro-government sources, the SAA reached the Euphrates bridge in the northeastern part of al-Mayadin city. However, the bridge is destroyed in two places. So, in any case the SAA will be pushed to make a pontoon bridge if government troops want to cross to the eastern bank of Euphrates in the area.

According to pro-government sources, government forces are in control of about 30-50% of al-Mayadin. However, ISIS still poses resistance to the Tiger Forces and their allies.

Meanwhile, the Russian Defense Ministry’s Krasnaya Zvezda newspaper announced that the Russian Aerospace Forces conduct 517 combat sorties and destroyed over 1,260 terrorist facilities across Syria in the past week.

Pro-government sources say that a large part of the airstrikes were delivered on ISIS in the province of Deir Ezzor.

A job for the Russian engineers to repair that bridge damage or likely faster to put up pontoon

George

Pontoons more likely cause SAA have no time to spare to cross the Euphrates. They must capture Omar oil fields before those USA puppets.

Jesus

The damage on the bridge is on land or near land, Russian engineering prowess should take care of that, still amphibious self propelled ferries can deploy armor and equipment on the east side of Eufrates. Fire control from existing positions against ISIS positions on the east side of Euphrates should be decisive and allow a bridgehead to develop and expand quickly.

Vidura

yeah….I like playing couch commander too!

Terra Cotta Woolpuller

Should see the post bridge they built in less than 2 days 200 meters long and able to handle 70,000 vehicles a day, that’s operational right now.

PZIVJ

Well, maybe not that many per day. :0 I think the Mayadan bridge area is way to exposed to ISIS mortars, etc. So a crossing NW of the city perhaps. Time for the SAA to clear that west shore!

Terra Cotta Woolpuller

think they have that in mind already as they are securing the west to al Muhassan they control the road already and will push through the Tahtani region by going north to the bank.

Tuz in Iraq has some issues apparently Peshmerga shot towards the Turkmen PMU from some houses and they returned fir seems like uncontrolled fire right now.

Terra Cotta Woolpuller

Check ISWN Middle East Conflict Map it tries to keep current and it is a google map they use they already have the region to the west and are in the Tahtani region and are also attacking in the west. Deir Ezzor has Hatla town under control reporter Siba is there from Asian Network Telivision , they are cutting the DE- Hasaka hwy and taking Al-Salehiyyah will be a strike and securing further west to Al Junyya.

PZIVJ

Thanks for the info. It appears that ISIS is pushing back against SDF at Jafra oil fields. So SAA may be able to to take both banks of the river SE towards Mayadin. This is my hope :)

Terra Cotta Woolpuller

Heard earlier the SDF lost them along with Conoco fields , the Kurds had it reported on their sites but they all have removed the tweets. Follow both sides in the tweets Markito71 is another Kurd tweeter.

russian engineers are almighty

pity only, they are not able toi build normal houses.

Joe Doe

SAA should continue advances to liberate Al-Mayadin city and north of the city and secure safe buffer zone, while the Russian and Syrian Engineers repair the bridge. THan SAA should cross the river and secure Omar Oil fields

RTA (Bob or Al)

In my view special forces should be flown near the Omar fields and take he protectors out (I assume ISIS) one by one “stealthily”.

Floyd Hazzard

There should have been troop insertions behind enemy lines long ago, before The Kurds started the push south.

RTA (Bob or Al)

I mentioned it a couple of nights ago; I read somewhere there have been, North of the Omar fields. With the lack of reporting of it, I am just wondering if I dreamt it. But I agree with you totally.

Rob

In 2011 America and their terrorist coalition have attacked Syrian nation by their own proxies and then in 2015 America have occupied more than 90% Syria while the Syrian nation occupied the remaining 30%. Now in 2017 America occupy, just 30% while Syrian nation occupy 70%. This is a clear indication that America and their terrorist coalition are losing Syrian war. America are not only losing Syrian war but they are losing Afghanistan and Iraq war also.

Bru

Nice figures, terrorists and their backer are losing

Manie

The eastern part of the bridge seems to have the most damage. Repairs would be quite challenging specially when under fire, and take quite some time. If they decide to cross the Euphrates I think it will most likely be at a different location, using a pontoon bridge and securing a bridgehead area on the east side that is more open and not densely populated and fortified as apposed to the location directly across on the eastern part the bridge, which seems to have a lot of house and infrastructure, which will make advancing difficult. My guess is that if they cross, it will be at Buqrus to shahil or just east of buqrus where the river turns and looks like a horse shoe. Prior to crossing ,look for reports of heavy bombardment on east side of the river.

Rob

Can America and UK show to the world that have they won any war against any country in the world? Vietnam, Korean, Afghanistan, Iraq, Syria all have defeated America in wars because when America attack over a country then the whole nation together stand up and beat the American invaders so hard that then they look for the routes to run away from the country.

In only Afghanistan America have spent more than one trillion US dollars and they losing war there in Afghanistan, instead Afghanistan is a so backward country that you will be surprised and America is consider themselves superpower. In Afghanistan Taliban control more than 70% area.

Solomon Krupacek

iraq defeated so mach america in 2 wars, that saddam is death and till today is occuped by americans, afghani too, korea too, syria is beeng divided.

for vietnam they got nicaragua.

DJ Double D

Information is there now that the US is about to surprise Russia again in north-east of Euphrates. Will capture Omar Oil field. This will be a disaster.

Solomon Krupacek

you are right, except 1 thing: this is not surprize :)
