Syrian Army Pushes Al-Qaeda Militants Back From Positions That They Captured In Northwestern Hama

ILLUSTRATIVE IMAGE

On May 11, the Syrian Army regained control of the town of Tanjarah in northwestern Hama. On May 10, it was captured by forces of the al-Qaeda-linked coalition of militant groups, wa-Harid al-Mu’minin.

According to pro-militant sources, 37 Syrian soldiers and 24 militants were killed in the clashes, which were ongoing in the area on May 10 and May 11.

The interesting fact is that no Syria or Russia employed warplanes to pound the miltiants attacking Tanjarah. This means that they are still committed to the March 5 ceasefire agreement even despite this blatant violation by Idlib militants.
