On Wednesday, the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) and its allies captured the villages of Mazra’a and Aziza Abisan located southwest of the town of Khanasir in the southwestern Aleppo countryside, according to the Hezbollah media wing in Syria.

Syrian pro-government sources also reported that the SAA captured Ramlah southwest of Khanasir. However, these claims are yet to be confirmed by any official source.

The villages of Mazra’a and Aziza Abisan are located 30km southeast of the Abu al-Duhur Airbase, the main target of the SAA’s ongoing military operation in the northern Hama countryside and southwestern Aleppo countryside.

From its side, Syrian oppositions sources reported that Syrian and Russian warplanes bombed several positions in al-Hass Mount west of Khanasir.

Meanwhile, the HTS-linked news agency Iba’a reported that HTS fighters recaptured the strategic village of Abu Ajwa in the northeastern Hama countryside from ISIS. A field commander of HTS told Iba’a that 15 fighters of ISIS were killed during the clashes in Abu Ajwa.

The recent ISIS attack in the northeastern Hama countryside played a key role in weakening the HTS defense in the region between Aleppo and Hama. The SAA and its allies will likely take advantage of this and continue their advance in the region until capturing it all.
