The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) has recaptured the key town of al-Hamameyat and its hill in northern Hama from Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) and its allies.
Citing a military source, Muraselon, a pro-government outlet, reported that the SAA began its counter-attack in the afternoon of July 11. After few hours of heavy shelling, army units were able to impose control of al-Hamameyat’s main hill and later the entire town.

More than 20 militants of HTS and its allies were reportedly killed and dozens others were injuring during the clashes around al-Hamameyat in the last 24 hours.
A coalition of HTS, Turkish-backed groups and al-Qaeda-affiliated factions captured al-Hamameyat in a rapid attack a day ago only. SAA units withdrew from the town with minimum losses.
While the recapture of al-Hamameyat and its hill is for sure an achievement for the SAA, the next step will be decisive. Another ceasefire could allow HTS and its allies to regroup and launch new attacks. This scenario has repeated itself many times over the last two months.

The problem as you are well aware is the manpower shortage in the SAA and the Americunts, Turkeys and Saudi scum are recruiting headchoppers from as far away as China’s Uighurs, Kazakhs etc. Syria has had a huge male demographic issue as the hardcore Sunni Salafist types either escaped, don’t report for conscription or have joined terrorists. The Turkeys are also using prisoners, murderers, and rapists from their jails as terrorists besides their own military in Idlib. They are also facilitating Saudi terrorists as recent death of these headchoppers has confirmed. Syrian military is in a bind as it takes a good year or so to train motivated COIN forces. The Iranian supported militias have done a good job in securing major cities, western and central Syria, but to hold more territory will require more motivated and well trained manpower like Hezbollah. The Russian role in Idlib is also questionable due to Putin’s eagerness to please the mad maniac ErDOGan. Considering the Idlib terror enclave is barely 3,000 sq kms, it should have been bombed to hell if Russia really deployed serious air assets and even ground missiles and artillery. The Russian coma has given the Turkeys time to rearm the terrorists with some very serious NATO weaponry including 120mm heavy mortars and surplus Javelins. It will take determined effort to liberate Idlib, it can be done but time will tell. The Turks are biggest scum in this whole destabilization of Syria for their sole aim of annexing the best productive lands.
