Syrian Army Reinforces Its Positions Around Kobane (Video, Photos)

Support SouthFront

The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) deployed on October 26 additional troops in its newly-established positions around the border town of Kobane in northeast Syria.

The London-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) released a video and several photos showing the army’s reinforcements, which included battle tanks.

Two days ago, more than 1,300 Syrian service members and 160 vehicles arrived in Kobane. Kurdish sources said that the troops will be stationed around the border town.

The SAA entered Kobane earlier this month following a breakthrough agreement between the Damascus government and the Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF). Later, units of the Russian Military Police joined the army inside the town as a part of a Russian-Turkish deal.

The Syrian military and the Russian Military Police will both work to establish observation posts along the border north of Kabane. Patrols will be also conducted within the town, while Kurdish fighters will withdraw.

Interesting to see that that one man anti Assad London based propagandist is the supplier of these photo’s / video. Perhaps from ignorant beginnings he is becoming a credible source of information. Mind you I also believe Jeff Bezos is going to use his money and influence too promote Trump for President 2020 as well.

“more than 1,300 Syrian service members and 160 vehicles arrived in Kobane.” It’s great to see SAA moving in to secure Syrian territory. And a green bus also included, Jihadist rats probably don’t like to see those. It brings back to many bitter memories of defeat for them. :)

I suspect that the UK ambassador to the UN will demand an emergency meeting to complain that the Assad forces are travelling in the back of trucks, and other UK traffic violations, in a very ‘unsafe manner’. I suspect that the ambassador will demand a missile attack on these troops to enforce the UK Health and Safety message. The British army banned troop transport in the back of trucks without appropriate safety belts many years ago now. :)

Funnily enough one of my most comfortable and memorable journeys was in the back of a 4 ton army truck lounging on a pile of tents for a few hours back in the 1970’s on a glorious Summer day.

1300 soldiers and 160 vehicles wow that’s a lot, that means Assad’s probably expecting trouble, but since he’s already intermingled his forces with the SDF forces, we know it won’t be trouble from the Kurds, just the Turks and their sponsors. Propaganda is very confusing, take this part of the story as an example,

“The SAA entered Kobane earlier this month following a breakthrough agreement between the Damascus government and the Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF). Later, units of the Russian Military Police joined the army inside the town as a part of a Russian-Turkish deal”.

That’s 2 different stories wrapped up on one,

“The SAA entered Kobane earlier this month following a breakthrough agreement between the Damascus government and the Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF)”,

end of story one, then we have story 2,

“Later, units of the Russian Military Police joined the army inside the town as a part of a Russian-Turkish deal”.

That’s conflating 2 stories with opposing agenda’s into just one story with a common purpose, but which is the real story we should be focusing on, the fact the SAA and the Kurds have worked to their own deal to stop the Turks, or the fact the Turks and the Russians have worked out a separate deal that doesn’t include either Syrian or Kurdish interests, just Turkey’s. The SAA shelled Turkish OB posts in Idlib in an attempt to force them out, and Assad’s never once in recorded history said he’ll accept any form of Turkish occupation anywhere on Syrian soil, so it seems one story is more in tune with what Assad’s continually saying.
