The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) has repelled an attack of the joint forces of Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) and the Free Syrian Army (FSA) on its positions in Dahrat al-Aliya west of Ma’an town in the northern Hama countryside, the Hezbollah media wing in Syria reported on Friday. According to the report, the SAA managed to kill and injure several HTS fighters.
The SAA allegedly destroyed a battle tank and an armored vehicle in the vicinity of Tal Bazam in the northern Hama countryside.
The SAA also targeted HTS positions with artillery and rocket launchers in the vicinity of Tal Bezam and Ma’an, Morek towns and in Lehaya village.
The recent attack may be a “reconnaissance by fire” by HTS. The group may prepare to launch a new offensive against the SAA in the northern Hama countryside with the aim of strengthening its influence in Idlib and gaining an additional public support after its recent clashes with Ahrar al-Sham.
Furthermore, several militant commanders in Idlib have called to attack the SAA to support ISIS in the eastern Homs countryside and the southern Raqqa countryside.

Strategically HTS and allies should attack direction of Hama, Aleppo city and the highway north towards Aleppo city to isolate the whole of Aleppo city and all of SAA in the north and north east, for as long as they can hold that road. If they can hold it for say two weeks, then SAA will start collapsing there because of no resupply. IS will be glad to help by attacking the same road and all SAA forces in southern Raqqah.
Whether HTS has the strength to realise this, one can only hope they do not.

HAMA is now very well fortified with mine fields etc.and the SAA troops garrisoned there actually are from and there live there, so no easy retreats and it will be very hard for ISIS / Israel. For Al Qaeda to advance in HAMA this time they would have to take more then % 60 plus death rate among their terror fighters. So yes it is possible for Israel’s puppets to advance in northern HAMA, but they will lose so many and so much material that their army would be broken and unable to even hold onto any of its gains.

SAA has done well recently, however, they are stretched thin. Beyond that, I do not believe all the reporting.
Two days ago SAA was storming Sukhna, a strategic town, IS reported as mostly left, only dozens IS, say up to a hundred, remaining, forst houses already taken.
Beyond that point : nothing.
