Syrian Army Repells Several Offensives in Hama Province, Killing 50 Militants

The Syrian army, supported by the Russian Aerospace Forces, has repelled a series of offensives by militant groups on the village of Ma’an in the northern part of Hama province on August 22. The Ahrar al-Sham militant group and its allies attempted to take control of this strategic village from the Syrian government forces. However, they lost some 50 fighters in the intense clashes and were forced to retreat.

In a separate development, the Syrian army troops and the National Defense Forces foiled the militants’ attack on along the road between Ma’an and al-Zalaqiyat, defending this area important for the logsitics of Syrian army.

Meanwhile, Syrian and Russian warplanes have made over 100 air strikes on militant targets in the provinces of Aleppo, Homs and Idlib. Confirmed reports say about 30 killed militants across the country. However, pro-government forces argue that up to 70 militants were killed.
