The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) repelled on August 15 yet another attack on its positions around the town of Sukayk and its key hilltop in the southeastern Idlib countryside.
The failed attack was reportedly carried out by units of Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham (HTS), the al-Qaeda-affiliated Wa Harid al-Muminin operations room and the Turkish-backed National Front for Liberation (NFL).
Muraselon, a pro-government outlet, claimed that the army destroyed a suicide vehicle-borne improvised explosive device (SVBIED). These claims were rejected by HTS’ news agency, Iba’a, which released photos of the SVBIED hitting a position of the SAA. However, the position appears to be located away from the town and Syrian soldiers can be seen fleeing before the explosion.
The SAA captured Sukayk and its hilltop last week in a surprise move, which was seen as a major blow to HTS and its allies. Since then, the terrorist group has made several attempts to recapture the town.
I love the smell of the exploding jihadists in the morning………………..
excellent SAA!!!! keep your feet on their faces, keep the rats IN THE GROUND!!!
If anyone’s read my latest conspiracy theory and disliked it, I’m going to make another prediction concerning that much hated theory, I predict the rebels already know they can take advantage of this treacherous situation I’ve been talking about, and they’ll make a last ditch all out effort to smash the SAA out of Hama, but hopefully Assad will be aware of it now and devise the appropriate defensive strategies. But it won’t be HTS turning up in big numbers, it’ll be the Turkish backed rebels like the NFL and the FSA arriving in big numbers, and they’ll have heaps of brand new Turkish vehicles and equipment to use, all courtesy of Erdogan.
