Late on January 15, the Syrian Army and its allies resumed offensive actions in southern Idlib in response to the recent series of ceasefire violations by Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (formerly Jabhat al-Nusra, the Syrian branch of al-Qaeda) and other militant groups.
Accordng to pro-government sources, government forces retook from militants the villages of Barsah and Nouhiya, west of the Abu al-Duhur airbase controlled by the Syrian military.
Earlier on the same day, the Syrian Air Force conducted a series of airstrikes on headquarters and installations of al-Qaeda-affiliated Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham in Idlib city.
If tensions in the Idlib zone continues growing, the Syrian Army may resume its full-scale ground operation against militants in the area.

syrialiveuamaps shows Al Barsah, Judaydat Nawwaf, Abu Jurayf, Tall Khatrah, and several other areas in Southeast Idlib now back under SAA control, and it also shows a massive air and artillery assault is taking place nearby, and there’s even been several airstrikes on Idlib city itself, which is guaranteed to let the already panicked refugees know this ceasefire is over and done with, start packing your bags again people, Erdogan’s waiting for you. The areas west and southWest of Aleppo city are also copping a massive pounding, it’s mostly an artillery barrage but they’ve also made a few airstrikes to the Southwest of the city as well. If the SAA and SAAF can keep this up for a few days Turkey’s in big trouble, so if you want a laugh just read Turkish news over the next few days, Erdogan’s reaction to this latest news will be totally hilarious. Go SAA and SAAF, victory is just days away.
