They have limited Manpower as they are withdrawing more troops towards Deir Ezzor and trying to maintain all the other fronts. This is still good because they keep inflicting heavy losses on ISIS in this area as they captured 25 and killed 10-12 in the same ambush .

Shouldn’t take that long as ISIS suffered a humiliating defeat and lost 14 towns and 6 hills in central Homs. Apparently they have the units of the 18th tank Div. and the 5th Legion there should make it cleared by couple of weeks, they cleared 90km2.
I’d imagine in Homs they’d have limited infantry and a couple of technicals with 12.7 / 14 / 23 / 30mm guns, and they’d just keep “sweeping the skyline”. If the jihadis are clever they will keep their heads down. They’ll starve soon enough.
