Syrian Army Retakes Mustadira Mountain From ISIS Northeast Of Palmyra

Support SouthFront

The Syrian army has retaken the Mustadira Mountain from the ISIS terrorist group in the area northeast of Palmyra.

The control over the Mustadira Mountain allows government troops to set a fire control over the western part of the Mustadira gas field. This will likely lead to the liberation of the area in the nearest future.

GOOD PROGRESS. SAA must have the hills to the north for a solid flank. They also need to take Army base and Jabal Mazar.

Thegr8rambino

Yes they must secure a good chunk of area around Palmyra to defend against any future Isis counterattacks to retake it

Dejan

I dont think that ISIS is going to try new big counter attack on Palmyra bcs they need to focus on Raqqa which is only big city in their control, Mosul will be soon liberated but still i wouldnt be surprised if they just hand over Raqqa to US, after all USA trained them

Daniel Castro

ISIS is done, CIA move forward to another treacherous plan.

Dejan

And that plan is called Kurdistan

Daniel Castro

I don’t think there will be kurdistan, it is actually seeming like a cooperation between US, Russia, YPG and Assad, they’ve reached an agreement and it will probably be an autonomous region on the new syrian federation, and it will serve to protect Syria from turkish aggression. Kurds have a lot of respect for russians, I do’nt think they will let themselves to be stooges for zionism. SDF has always been pentagon project, CIA was behind ISIS and Al-nusra.

Thegr8rambino

trump needs to really clean out the CIA in that case

Daniel Castro

Easier said than done… at this point anything can happen, but let’s hope for the best.

true

Brad Isherwood

Barzahni Kurds of Iraq are all in with Uncle Shlomo. US has 5 bases……more in Kurd Syria. US used the YPG in fight against ISUS,…and then pulled them back, With Erdogan waltz right in. YPG still with Uncle Shlomo. …..talk about reach into a bag of vipers.

Daniel Castro

Of course it is a dirty game they are playing, but kurds have been on their own for ages, they shouldn’t had been forced into a situation where they had to make a deal with the devil, but they were, and everyone is to blame for this.

Brad Isherwood

MICHAEL GORDON: Well, I mean, there are a couple things.

First, best case from the American military’s standpoint is, they work with the YPG, they give them anti-tank weapons, vehicles, machine guns, heavy machine guns, the Raqqa fight goes forward. That’s going to be a long, difficult fight, just like Mosul is.

Then, once the capital of the Islamic State is retaken, a couple things happen. First, there has to be a day-after plan for who governs the city, who provides essential services, who is really going to be in control there. It can’t be the YPG.

Second, the war with ISIS isn’t over. I mean, they have already begun to move some of their senior leadership to Deir el-Zour. They’re in al-Qaim in Iraq. They still have a shrunken caliphate in parts of Syria and Iraq. And so that fight has to go on.

US is obliterating the populace of Iraq,…the Iraqi army at times… And sometimes ISUS. Syria will experience such skill at war.

Daniel Castro

There will be too much blood until then, SAA is advancing quite fast, let’s see what happens if they reach Raqqah at time for the liberation.

Ronald

SAA , should leave Raqqa to the Kurds and US forces , and shore up Deir Azzor , that done they can then arrive in Raqqa with a large chunk of Syria south of Raqqa in Syrian control . Cut the US off , just like they did the Turks .

Thegr8rambino

yea i feel they should secure deir ezzor and other strategic locations before they make their final big push battle against raqqa, kind of like in movies or video games where you have to take out all the final boss’s minions before you face the final baddie lol

Bill Wilson

They’re all in the process of reducing ISIS by forcing their units to either fight or flee. The rats get killed either way. The process is going slow because all sides lack sufficient manpower to accept heavy losses.

Thegr8rambino

true, i wonder how many isis are left in syria
