Syrian Army Seizes More US-Supplied Weapons Abandoned By Militants In Damascus And Al-Quneitra (Photos)

On November 21, the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) uncovered several weapons caches during search operations in the countryside of al-Quneitra and in the southwestern Damascus countryside, according to the Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA).

“As a result of our cooperation with the locals and the reconciliation committees in Damascus countryside and al-Quneitra countryside, we recovered loads of weapons and ammunition,” an SAA officer told the Syrian News TV.

The weapons caches contained two Bulgarian-made Fagot anti-tank guided missiles (ATGM), a Bulgarian-made Konkurs ATGM, assault rifles, rocket-propelled grenades, mortar shells, mines, ammunition of different calibers and two satellite communication systems. Ten stolen vehicles were also recovered.

Last year, the Conflict Armament Research (CAR) released a detailed report on how the U.S. bought loads of weapons, including Fagot and Konkurs ATGMs, from Bulgaria in order to supply them to its proxies in Syria. A large part of these weapons found its way to the terrorist groups like ISIS and Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham (HTS), which continue to use them to this day.

The SAA is now getting free weaponry from all around the world lol.

hhabana

Wow. Of course you won’t see this from any “investigative journalists” in US. What a shame.

gustavo

It looks likes the Israel-USA-NATO idea is that their terrorists hide as much as possible weapons in Syria for later use (when the conditions for re-appearing of terrorists be ready). SAA must look for carefully everywhere in Syria land for these hidden weapons.

Morningstar ☝

ISIS don’t need their weapons they are making their own, and best weapons.

I can see that a lot of the weapons here are Soviet manufacture, what makes Damascus so sure they’re “US supplied?” I don’t know why you included the photo of a printer and what looks like a game consul, and those ammo cans have English lettering and style but those things are cheap on the civilian market (I own three). At least some of those cars are of US or European manufacture, tho. But all of this stuff can be easily found all over the world, even in the heart of Africa. While the US makes no secret of giving clandestine support to the few Syrian militias we like, Damascus has made a habit of presenting as fact that every single thing they confiscate was “US supplied.” Obvious political agenda is painfully obvious.

Of course this article is full BS, Americans are supplying weapons so they can be kicked out of Iraq :-) https://youtu.be/AHqA72PxrR0?t=41

Ok, maybe you’re new to that. A few years ago, when the US actively supported multiple fractions fighting in Syria (Turkey & Saudi Arabia too, but I won’t get into details), it didn’t make any sense to supply Humvees or heavy weapons to those groups for 2 main reasons. First, it would make a bit of a mess to see direct support (which was the case anyhow during a few scandals) to terrorists from a nation who fights them and not with them. Second was the simple fact that most of the fighters use soviet built weapons that are simple to use and cheap to buy. They were available from many countries that weren’t far away, like Balkan countries or Bulgaria. Those weapons were cheap and could be bought in large amounts. On Ammo cases, you can trace the origin. If you do some researches, you will find plentiful of proofs. Maybe those proofs were overused too by the Syrian Government and some cases might have been moved to those locations to make fake proofs, but we had enough examples and they don’t need to try hard to convince experts anymore. It is probably the reason why there are no closeups of those crates and batches anymore.

If you ever watched videos by the Islamic state they captured a LOT abandoned US weapons from the Iraqi army led by traitors of our nation. These russian propagandists use it as proof of US supplying ISIS lol :-) For example in video “Raids of vultures” there is clear evidence and there are hundreads of videos like that.

This is for example proof to counter the Russian lies (Trust me ISIS is RIGHT and they tell only the truth no matter if its nice or not) https://videopress.com/v/G7dR0DOt?at=455

Looks like the Syrian government is finding the hidden stocks of arms dealers that were ratted out by the locals and militias that reconciled with them. Those dealers got stuck with a lot of expensive ordnance after the rebel groups and ISIS ran out of money. Those landmines look as if they’ve been in the ground for awhile. Betcha those were dug up by the Golan Heights where Syria laid extensive mine field prior to the ’67 war and afterwards.
