On June 13, Syrian Arab Army troops, supported by the Russian Aerospace Defense Forces, continued advanced in Eastern Homs, liberating the strategic Arak oil field near the ancient city of Palmyra. Some 25 ISIS militants were killed in the advance.
On June 14, pro-government forces seized from ISIS the Safaiyeh oil field in the western part of the Raqqa province. The power station near the oil field was also liberated.
