On June 6, the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) shelled militants’ positons in the southern part of the so-called Greater Idlib region.
According to the UK-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR), the shelling targeted the towns of Hantoteen, al-Ruwaihah and Benin. The three towns are located in the eastern part of the al-Zawiya mount.
“[The shelling] coincided with the flight of a Russian warplane and reconnaissance aircraft [drones] in the airspace of Idlib countryside,” the monitoring group said in a report.
Several opposition activists confirmed that Russian warplanes and drones were unusually active over Greater Idlib today.
Earlier this week, Turkish-backed militants declared the al-Zawiya a military zone. The militants are reportedly bracing for an upcoming attack by the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) and its allies.
The SAA could launch a large-scale military operation to reopen the M4 highway, which links the cities of Lattakia and Aleppo. Turkey committed to reopen the highway under the March 5 agreement with Russia. However, the highway is still closed.

Is Putin finally getting sick and tired of Erdogan’s antics, it’s starting to look like he is, he’s just sent Assad a heap of new aircraft and 2 cargo ships filled with weapons and vehicles. And the Turks have started buying American LPG instead of Russian natural gas, that can’t be making Putin very happy at all, worse still they’re steadily increasing imports from the US and decreasing Russian supply whenever they can, it nearly looks like Erdogan’s switching sides, he’s propping up the US economy while the coronavirus hits them but abandoning the Russian economy when Russia needs gas export sales the most. That’s not very nice of him, especially after everything Putin’s done to help the Turkish economy, and he’s done a hell of a lot to help them over the last decade, I can nearly imagine Putin making effigy dolls of Erdogan and happily sticking pins into it, I know I would be if I was Putin, what a traitorous piece of you know what.
On the 27th of may there was a reported airstrike by Russian aircraft against TIP, there is a video of the attack that shows at least 2 airstrikes and a subsequently massive explosion, and this happened about 200 meters away from the M4 highway just north of Inkizik/Ankzik. On the same day the Turks reported an IED attack against one of their convoys that resulted in both death and injury, they sent in helicopters to evacuate the injured and blamed elements of Sham Legion for the attack, but the attacked occurred in exactly the same location as the Russian airstrikes were reported, was that just a coincidence, 2 attacks on or near the M4 highway just north of Inkizik/Ankzik, I don’t think so. I claimed it wasn’t a coincidence after watching the video, It actually looked like the Russian airstrike may have been responsible for the Turkish casualties. The video shows what appears to be several Turkish military vehicles that have pulled up just after the initial airstrikes, and as they’re just sitting there the ammo dump goes up in a massive explosion and one of them gets showered with the debris, after all the smoke clears those vehicles have left the scene but they may have been damaged in the explosion. I’m not aware of any other news sources making the same claim that I am but I think I’m right, the combination of video footage and the evidence it provides only points to one thing, the Russians actually did it, and they did it on purpose. Check out the conflicting reports on syrialiveuamaps for the 27th may and then watch the video, what do you think, are my claims absurd, were all the events that occurred in the same location all unrelated, just a coincidence as the Russians claim, it doesn’t look like a coincidence to me, just the opposite. Erdogan has never switched side. Turkey has always been a a NATO member, that is, a USA allied, that is, a USA friend, that is, Turkey has nuclear weapons pointing to Russia and China. Russia has made a big mistake trying to put Turkey by its side. Turkey will never be on Russia side in real danger situation. How can not anybody understand this ?
