The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) have shot down two unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) which were launched by militants stationed in northern Lattakia, Chief of the Russian Center for reconciliation of the opposing sides in Syria announced on October 18.

“Units of the Syrian government army downed two unmanned aerial vehicles launched by militants in the southwesterly direction near the settlement of Kabani in the Lattakia governorate,” Maj. Gen. Alexey Bakin said, according to the Russian news agency TASS.

The Russian commander warned that militants remaining in Greater Idlib continue to violate the ceasefire in the region.

Al-Qaeda-affiliated Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham (HTS), which controls Kabani, is known for assembling and operating several types of small UAVs, some of which are armed with unguided projectiles.

A day after downing the two UAVs, Russian warplanes carried out dozens of airstrikes on militants’ positions in Greater Idlib. The intense airstrikes are seen as a sign of a nearing military operation by the Syrian Arab Army (SAA).

The situation is the same and will become even worst since Turkey willl continue supporting terrorists at Idlib. Very bada that Russia stopped Syria offensive on Idlib area.
