On November 29, a unit of the Turkish-backed National Front for Liberation (NFL) attempted to launch an attack on positions of the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) around the town of Karnaz in the northern Hama countryside, according to the Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA).
“The army units clashed with the terrorist group, killing and injuring many of its members while the others fled away towards Idlib countryside,” the SANA’s reporter in Hama said.
The SAA artillery responded to this new violation of the Russian-Turkish demilitarized zone agreement and shelled several militant positions in the towns of Jarjnaz and al-Tah in the northern Hama countryside.
A day earlier, radical militants attempted to launch a similar attack on the SAA’s positions around the Christian town of Mahardah. However, the army foiled the attack.
These repeated violations of the demilitarized zone agreement indicate that Turkey is not pressuring the militants in northwestern Syria as it should do. The lack of any serious response from the Damascus government and its allies is also encouraging militants to keep this hostile behavior.

BEIRUT, LEBANON (5:30 P.M.) – During a press conference after the Astana peace conference on Thursday, Syria’s envoy to the United Nation’s, Dr. Bashar Al-Ja’afari, accused the Turkish regime of facilitating the chemical weapons attack on Aleppo last week.
According to Ja’afari, the Turkish military has been protecting jihadist groups like Hay’at Tahrir Al-Sham and Daesh in Idlib and Aleppo; he claims this enabled them to launch their attacks.
“That enabled the terrorist organizations to target Aleppo city with shells containing chemical substances more than once at a time,” Ja’afari said.
“This is a decision to escalate terrorism by those who support the terrorist organizations positioned in Idlib, especially Jabhat al-Nusra, Daesh and their affiliated groups.”
The Syrian diplomat said that the Turkish regime is the first suspect in the facilitation, procession and use of chemical weapons by militants in the Idlib province against civilians in Aleppo.
Ja’afari demanded that the Turkish military immediately withdraw their troops from Syria, as Damascus views their presence as an occupation force, rather than a peacemaker.
He would then accuse Turkey of purposely “changing the name of cities” in a bid to remove their Syrian identity.
The Syrian diplomat then took another shot at Turkey, claiming they are harboring radical groups that are affiliated with Al-Qaeda and Daesh in Idlib.
“Is the Turkistan Islamic Party a moderate Syrian opposition or is it non-moderate? … What about Hurras al-Deen organization, which declared allegiance to Zawahiri in Afghanistan? All of these foreign terrorists are in Idlib under protection of the Turkish authorities,” Ja’afari added.
HTS launched the rockets and Turkey gets the blame, Erdogan just delivered HTS to the SAA and Russian on a plate, so he’s the person that’s actually helping HTS the least atm, he just delivered them to Russia like sacrificial lambs. The Syrians are just pointing out that there is no real difference between the two rebel factions, if HTS has to go, so will Erdogan’s mob eventually. I think Erdogan may have to start losing some of the dead weight he’s got hanging around his neck, that’s if I understand what the Syrians were saying to him in this article, maybe he should be sending a few of his groups to die alongside the HTS fighters that are about to start piling up, it might make him last just that little bit longer if he does.

I was just a little worried this new round of talks would nobble the SAA, I was wrong, it’s made it even easier for the SAA. HTS is all alone now, nowhere to run, nowhere to hide, not a friend in the world [well in Syria at least], what can they do but die, nothing. No slowdown in SAA and Russian strikes on HTS at all, even attacked Erdogan’s boys already even though they are part of the agreement and designated as non combatants, but of course Erdogan’s boys started it. Only one day into the new agreement and Erdogan’s rebels have already broke the ceasefire, that a really good sign of what’s to come. I said yesterday it would probably be the dumb FSA who actually break the agreement first, I didn’t expect them to do it within 24 hours though, MORONS. This new Asatana agreement as far as I can see only does 1 thing the first didn’t, it allows the SAA and Russia to attack HTS without cause, something they weren’t supposed to do to HTS in the first agreement unless HTS was actually fighting, now they can attack them whenever they want to according to this new agreement. Apart from that it just extends for another 6 months Erdogan’s right to administer the area’s that the FSA/NFL control, which we were all expecting anyway. So if anyone out there is thinking this new Astana agreement hampers the SAA or Russia in any way, check syrialivemap and see if there’s any difference in what the SAA were doing before the agreement, and what they’re doing now. I’m expecting that map to light up like a christmas tree soon, the southern part of Idlib at least.
