Late on December 12, the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) launched a salvo of heavy rockets at militants’ positions in the town of Jarjanaz in the southern Idlib countryside.
According to several opposition sources, more than 20 rockets landed in the town and in its outskirt. No civilians were reportedly killed or injured.
Some activists claimed that 300 mm rockets launched by a BM-30 Smerch system were used in the attack. The BM-30 heavy multiple rocket launcher (MRL) can fire rockets with ranges up to 90 km.
The London-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) reported that Russian reconnaissance warplanes were flying over Jarjanaz during the rocket strike.
Al-Qaeda-affiliated Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) captured Jarjanaz and several villages in its outskirt from the hands of Turkish-backed militants earlier this year.
The rocket strike on the town was likely carried out in response to the recent provocations of HTS. Earlier this week, the terrorist group captured a key position in southeast Idlib from the SAA.
Now I’m confused. I thought HTS WAS a “Turkish-backed militant group”. Go, SAA!
It’s satanic proxy army hts and isis and all scums cowards groups (l.a) the more they die the better for the world.
