Syrian Army Strikes Terrorists’ Stronghold In Northwest Idlib With Heavy Rockets

The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) carried out late on November 27 a rocket strike on the city of Jisr al-Shughur in the northwestern part of Idlib.

Opposition activists reported that at least six heavy rockets, some armed with cluster warheads, targeted the city’s perimeter, where several terrorists’ positions were located.

The SAA likely used BM-30 Smerch multiple rocket launchers (MRLs). The system can launch several types of 300 mm rockets, with a range of up to 90 km.

Jisr al-Shughur, the biggest urban centers in northwestern Idlib, was captured by a coalition of al-Qaeda-affiliated groups and the Free Syrian Army (FSA) in June of 2015. Back then, the al-Nusra Front [now rebranded as Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham (HTS)] killed or expelled most of the locals as a punishment for their support to the government.

Within a few months, terrorists of the Turkistan Islamic Party (TIP) and their families were settled in the city, turning it into in a hub for foreign terrorists.

The new rocket strike indicates that the SAA is not going to tolerate the current situation in Jisr al-Shughur. Earlier this year several reports claimed that the army is planning a military operation to liberate the city and the opposition-held part of northern Lattakia.

Willing Conscience (The Truths

Come on China this is your problem, send a couple of ballistic/cruise missile ships and a couple of transport ships [equipped with those excellent high tech landing craft that look so cool], and then take home any Uighurs you don’t manage to kill with the missiles or ground troops, stick them in with all the rest of the Uighur fanatics you’ve already locked up. When media reports first started exposing China’s treatment of it’s Muslim Uighur population I was totally aghast, China’s behaviour seemed to be totally intolerant and beyond any justification, that was until I started seeing how the Uighurs in Syria actually behave, now I don’t think China’s overreacting at all, I actually want them to do more, especially to this bunch of head chopping Christian haters. Come on China, if you won’t use your own military then at least provide the funds needed to get rid of these terrorists, the money you would’ve spent rehabilitating them for the next ten years is more than Assad needs to get rid of them permanently, cough up some more cash and he’ll do the job for you.
