The Syrian army has took control back over heights near the Tyas Airbase west of Palmyra from ISIS terrorist group, the Russian state-run news agency “Ria Novosti” reported, citing own military source.
“The Syrian army has regained control over abandoned barracks near the Tyas Airbase on Palmyra’s outskirts,” Ria Novosti qouted the source as saying.
The Tyas Airbase is located about 50 kilometers west of Palmyra.
Since December 12, the Syrian army and the National Defense Forces (NDF) have repelled at least 3 major ISIS attacks on the Tyas Airbase. The airbase is now a key defense facility of pro-government forces fighting against ISIS terrorists in the province of Homs.
Good news, thanks SF!
