The Syrain Arab Army (SAA) and the National Defense Forces (NDF) have liberated the village of Al-Husayniyah from ISIS north of Deir Ezzor city, on the eastern bank of the Euphrates, the Syrian Defense Ministry said on October 16.
Separtely, pro-government sources claimed that the SAA and the NDF have liberated the village of Safirah at-Tahtaniyah on the eastern bank of the river.
If the advance in Safirah at-Tahtaniyah is confirmed, this will be a notable signal of the expected full collapse of the ISIS defense north of Deir Ezzor city.
Meanwhile, government forces have continued advancing against ISIS terrorists inside the city. Especially intense clashes took place near Deir Ezzor’s Workers’ District. A fighting was also reported in Al-Rusafa and Al-Rashidiyah.

The so-called land grabbing “SDF” were not able to take the village of Al-Husayniyah. Latest tomorrow this pocket will be closed by the SAA units and allies. In the meanwhile the Tigers will do their brilliant job in the vicinity of Mayadin. I think in some days the march to al Bukamal from the north will start. And with the units at T2 and the Iraqi forces advancing to al Qaim a splendid forceps operation will take place. The final greater act to defeat ISIS and to stopp further expectations of the kurds down there..

The City border is their limit. You have ignored they took several villages north west of it the last 14 days.

The SAA have received heavy criticism from some quarters for continued movements to north against ISIS, rather than focusing efforts on blocking SDF advance in south-east, but map above shows SAA are securing the north east flank approaches to Dier Ezzore city. The city is the centre of the province, and as long as SAA secure the city – the SDF cannot make any realistic claims to the province as per the US partition schema.

As I can see, the capture of Safirah at-Tahtaniyah means another crossing of the Euphrates. Then they may go south-east alongside with the eastern bank of the river, and to meet their bros advancing towards them. If they meet, SDF will have nothing to do in dz vicinities.
