Syrian Army Takes Control Of Large Chunk Of Syrian-Jordanian Border

Click to see the full-size image

Syrian government forces, led by Druze militias and members of the Syrian Social Nationalist Party (SSNP) military wing, have regained a large chunk of the Syrian-Jordanian border from the joint militant forces supported by the US-led coalition.

Government forces have reportedly captured a major part of the Zalaf area east of Suweida and continued advance in order to increase pressure on US-backed militants in the border area of al-Tanaf.

No major settlements are located at the Syrian-Jordanian border. Thus, if the US-led coalition does not use force against Syrian troops, the Syrian Army, the SSNP, Druze militias and other pro-government units will likely reach the southern countryside of al-Tanaf without heavy clashes. Jaish Maghaweer Al-Thawra, a main US-backced militant group operating in the area, just does not have enough manpower to stop the government advance.

Let’s hope that the Russians are ready to blow the US terrorflieger out of the sky.

Stephen

I have mentioned before, ISIS are USA Special Operation Forces operating in Syria and in Iraq. Now ISIS protecting Al Tanf base.

ISIS have created buffer zone between Syria and Iraq. Now ISIS will change their uniform and will put on of USA special operation force uniform.

There were some 150,000 ISIS terrorists in Syria and in Iraq. Only 45,000 left. Now tell me where the remaining ISIS terrorists gone?

@Inc2Get

Although I agree with you, many ISIS members have died. the 45k are mainly in Raqqa and Mosul and Deir ezzor. Also stationed in syrian desert. ISIS is cooperating with the US backed forces (not the kurds but the FSA and other jihadi fractions) in a bid to topple Assad.

Tom Tom

they don’t care if arab men get killed. plenty more where they came from. ISIS was created by CIA. Mostly paid for by Saudi’s, intel provided by Mossad. CIA went to the Sunni tribes during the 2nd Iraq war to pay them to stop blowing up American soldiers, and to offer then their own country, led by the Ba’athist leadership to provide a block to the Iranians, i.e. to keep between the Saudi’s/Israeli’s and the Iranians, just like what Saddam was used for previously. ISIS is secretly led by the former Sadam’s Ba’athist military leaders, with CIA training. There’s more but you’d really have to go down the rabbit hole and most people don’t want to face what the reality is. “ISIS” for example, even the name the CIA gave them has implications for where this is going. Hint: Humanity won’t like it.

EL ZORRO

You are 100% correct, the United States/Israel CREATED I.S.I.S to DESTROY the Syrian Nation and create the oil/gas pipe line from Saudi Arabia/Qatar to the Mediterranean Sea and to expand the Israeli territory inside Syria, instal a ZIONIST CENTRAL BANK to enslave the Syrian people like all the other countries with ZIONIST CENTRAL BANK.

Tom Tom

that is true but there are darker reasons overall. don’t worry, Jesus wins in the end.

Tom Tom

The U.S. and Europe. My cousin is an ICE agent on the border near El Paso and he says that he sees these old UPS trucks that have a couple dozen Arab men in theme, all them military age. They’re detained, and then released. He said he once sat outside the facility to see if anyone picked them up and what do you know, the same old UPS truck would roll up, they’d get in, and take off. Probably on their way to some camp where they get more training, weapons, so they can prepare for the coming war inside the U.S. that the globalist satanists have prepared for this country.

Bill Wilson

Your cousin probably sells his sister over in Boys’ Town.

IFFighter

I bet there wasn’t many heavy clashes between “rebels” and ISIS along the border before. ISIS units located there have just joined “opposition” forces.

PZIVJ

NOW THIS IS WHAT I WAS HOPING TO HEAR : “a main US-backed militant group operating in the area, just does not have enough manpower to stop the government advance.” Jordan/US backed FSA is weak in most areas. GOOD NEWS

VeeNarian (Yerevan)

This could spark the direct NATO intervention. Watch out for the NATO forces pretending to be ISIS. How long does it take to grow an ISIS style beard, with help from hormones? A month?

Tom Tom

NATO will be destroyed in the coming war (destroyed in Europe).

Solomon Krupacek

you are troll

i wander, how many further kilometers will be allowed to saa? today there is open war netwenn usa and syria. and usa are usual gam changing factor. only russia could send tjem home. tactical nuclear weapon nera al tanf. ih not helps, 50kT raqqa. 3rd qatar. this wpuld elevate also iol price. but putin is coward. he does not make russia great, he is úplaying dard games of old ladies during tea-drinking.

Charlie rad

you are an idiot. Go smoke some more crack. Or is it sniff some more crack ?

PZIVJ

I copied my text from article above to keep you better informed. Because this is what a troll does. It was reported that US and Russia had previously agreed to a 55 KM no conflict zone around the Al Tanf training base. Perhaps the SAA militia did not get this memo? They need to hold up where they are to let the situation calm down. The US and Brits started to get a little bit nervous, and called in air support, and now some Norway troops to show their flag. The Russian aircraft was just in the area to show the flag, and nothing else.

Solomon Krupacek

again betray

Tom Tom

a coward? about what, WW3? If he’s smart, which is he, of course he would be afraid of that. But the Russians, Chinese and Iranians will strike the west first. Not the other way around.

Solomon Krupacek

no ww3

Solomon Krupacek

otherwise, check putins speeches fromoctober 2015. he personally told, russia can use nuclear weapons in syria,.. and americans were very quit.

Bill Wilson

Those “brave” militias advanced thru uncontested wasteland were no sides ever bothered to set-up bases and randomly patrolled since nobody in their right mind would try driving thru it.

PZIVJ

There is a minor road through this area. Syria has a right to it’s own territory, not US backed FSA. If it only takes a battalion, this is good.

John

What is not to like about that. :)

Maj Dan

Russia and the US have already agreed to the new occupation zones. Trump is now telling the Arabs to accept the new boundaries. Looks like the Saudis have said OK! Europe will join in to help establish those Trump “safe zones” to send refugees to!

Ronald

So far it is only the US claiming al Tanaf to be a “de-conflict zone” , in trying to justify their bombing of the SAA troops . The US base is in Jordan , and al Tanaf is well within Syria . The US claiming SAA to be a “threat” without having crossed the border is way out of line. The USAF bombing SAA on Syrian ground , is an outrageous act of war . Lavrov’s comments do not match yours .

Tom Tom

This is going nuclear.

Bill Wilson

Russia doesn’t give a rat’s ass about those stupid SAA militias in that region.

Ronald

Is that Blonde Lebanese your smoking .

Xanatos

Syria has uncovered a major supply route used by the West to arm rebels thru Isis territory. Free passage thru this area is easy because it is unoccupied desert with few outposts.

But to what extant is this route used to supply Isis? Isis has been infiltrated with many spies. The Isis forces that attack Palmyra may be commanded by western spies. The forces seem to never run out of supplies.

several Isis commanders around deir ezzor were kidnapped by us special forces last year. That’s one way to eliminate your spies’ rivals.

Solomon Krupacek

thios is sure true. BUT also that fact is true, that in govermnent held territories are such routs. and the local general ar fatter and fatter and richer and richer …

Bill Wilson

Those generals (local strongmen) also sell govt. issued weapons and munitions to the smugglers without any worry since their militias never fight anyone.

Solomon Krupacek

yes

Tom Tom

“The forces seem to never run out of supplies.”

Sure, its because their supplies are paid for by U.S. taxpayers and Saudi contributions.

Bill Wilson

ISIS has plenty of captured weapons and munitions because the SAA has been too chicken shit to fight them.

DJ Double D

This Map absolutely shows Nothing to proof this article right. I can’t see any big chunk of territory taken by SAA. Please update and red tag the recaptured area.

Stephen

Syrian forces SAA already reached there to Al Tanf base from Zaza junction but from Al Swayda side they are 95km away. We already know this from other websites.

Bill Wilson

What this group of clowns have seized is uncontested unpopulated worthless arid wasteland that was randomly patrolled by the FSA just to see if anyone was fool enough to try driving thru the region.

DJ Double D

I’m not belittling their achievement, just that SF is talking about big chunk of territory while the map presented is showing nothing.

Bill Wilson

It’s easy to take control of uncontested empty areas.

Ronald

Exactly , FSA and ISIS , control a lot of desert , soon to be gone .

Solomon Krupacek

also for SAA …

SOF

Great move. Better to clear out the problem south half of Syria and the Es Safa lava field (the big black patch currently under non Daesh anti-government militants marked green) so as to minimize chances of being surrounded, then link up with the salient on the highway towards Al-Tanaf, then secure the whole area in the middle, before moving on to repeat the process along the straight Iraq-Syria border towards Euphrates before swinging northwest following up the Euphrates towards Deir-Ezzor. Just an idea.
