On February 22, units of the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) entered the area controlled by the Kurdish YPG in the city of Aleppo, including the neighborhoods of Sheikh Maqsoud, Hellok, Bustan Al-Basha, Baidayn and Shaykh Khidr.
According to pro-government sources, the YPG is set to handover its checkpoints in the area to the SAA. The move is reportedly a part of the wider deal between Damascus and the YPG.
Earlier this week, two convoys of govenment troops entered the Syrian region of Afrin where a Turkish military operation against the YPG is ongoing.

So, not only more FSA animals will die in Afrin region, but also the entire PKK garrison in Aleppo? WOW, Assad is playing this game PERFECTLY!
Perhaps the Kurds in Aleppo are needed to reinf0rce those fighting the Sultan?
Did I deny this? LOL
Likely is sending reinforcements to Afrin while continuing having a presence in the relevant quarters, continuing presence of Asayish and training facilities.
If these kurdish troops from Aleppo are smart, than they move into Turkey. That would be the best way to break the siege of Afrin. Erdo has been hunting down all his opponents in the last years, kurds, gulenists, political opponents…..Turkey is flooded with immigrants from Afghanistan, Pakistan, Irak….. . It can’t be that hard to start the fire. Lets hope they destroy Turkey. Otherwise these Turks bring all these immigrants to Europe. Thats what these Turkish assholes have been doing for years. So let them all rot in hell.
Ooh fuck off you racist twat.
Yup, looks like the Kurds will get what they can from the US but also know who best to keep on friendly terms with in the long run.
well they better hope they got enough from US because it looks like US turned their back on them now lol
if USA let kurds east of euprahtes river fall, kurds will easily go in alliance with syrian goverment and russia, and USA knows that exactly… so well everyone on syrian ground is playing good poker..nothing more to add
Why east of Euphrates?
YPG didnt leave allepo city, they just let the syrian goverment to enter this part of allepo in order to benefit, well kurds generellay dont hate syrian goverment, they never fought eachother in alleppo but fought together against tuzrkish backed jihadists in allepo city
I guess the plan is to relocate the YPG and YPJ forces from Afrin to other parts of Syria. The Syrian government can then take control of the Afrin region which will remove the reason for the Turkish invasion. This can only work of cause if sufficient diplomatic pressure is put on the Turks to accept the arrangement.
The Turks will be a willing to give up Afrin as they seem to be about handing-back the enclave they invaded. They are not Assad’s friends.
The question is how much are they Russia’s?
I’d be watching for another US sponsored coup attempt in Turkey.
“They are not Assad’s friends.” That is an understatment. The Turks carry much responsibility for the Syria war disaster. The YPG/YPJ presence is however the stated reason for the invasion. Removing the reason will make it more difficult to defend to the outside world.
Aleppo is completely restored to Syria.
Uncle Sam must be seething as this further undermines their modus operandi in the region. Looks like Yankee rattle snake has been dealt a mortal blow by small Syrian mongoose. Ouch
This is a bit of confirmation for me, that there is some real bleeding going on in the YPG. The Kurds seem to be drawing on their reserves from all over Syria, quite possibly Turkey and Iraq too. US DoS tried to get this under control but, these transfers are signaling they did not succeed. By the end of March, the YPG might have to give up a lot more and they will still have lost a lot of territory. It’s early yet to call but, Afrin is lost, as they are burning up reserves way too fast. My take on it folks. To all, fare thee well.
Aleppo needed to be United anyway. Kurd militias in Allepo were just picking their noses. Now they can help afrin.
