The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) uncovered several weapons caches during recent search operations in the newly-liberated part of the northern Homs countryside, the Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA) reported on March 21.

The weapons caches contained RPO-A thermobaric rocket launchers, RPG-26 anti-tank rocket-propelled grenades, RPG-18 anti-tank rocket-propelled grenades, heavy machine guns of different calibers, ammunition, explosive materials and satellite communication systems.

Two days ago, the SAA found a large cache of explosives and munitions in the town of Talbiseh in the northern Homs countryside. Radical militants used these materials to make improvised explosive devices (IEDs) prior to the liberation of the region.

The Northern Homs countryside was one of the first strongholds of the so called Syrian Free Syrian Army (FSA) in the country. Militants presence there can be tracked back all the way to the second half of 2011. Despite this, the locals were able to pressure the militants into accepting an evacuation agreement last year.

Good job SAA, another fine display of wasted western tax dollars supporting these terrorist fiends.

Are the weapons Israeli or US made ? Either way, it shows complete incompetence or culpability in the nation that supplied them.

Peter Moy

The weapons in the pictures – AK assault rifles, PKM 7.62 mm. machineguns, NSV 12.7 mm. machineguns, single shot anti-tank rocket launchers and RPGs are of Soviet/Russian origin. They were probably captured from Syrian arsenals in the areas that the militants occupied or were supplied by the US and its lapdogs from former Eastern-Bloc countries that used them. Either way, the stupid governments that supplied them made a losing bet that backfired badly and cost them billions of dollars, euros, shekels, rials, dinars, etc. for a lost cause.

Bill Wilson

Nah. That’s new stuff some arms dealer got stuck with after the rebels and extremists ran out of cash. The crappy looking mortar bombs appear to have been buried after being emptied.

hhabana

Good find! Now SAA can use them in Idlib.

You can call me Al

Nope.
