The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) uncovered two large ISIS weapons workshops during recent search operations in southern Raqqa and eastern Deir Ezzor, the Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA) reported on June 17.
The first workshop, which was founded near the town of Zur Shmir in Raqqa, including over 12,000 locally-made mortar shells of different. The second one was located near the city of al-Mayadin in Deir Ezzor. It contained loads of explosive materials.
“The SAA’s unit and the authorities recovered ISIS terrorists’ remnants [mortars] in a careful and a precise manned in order to prevent them from exploding … Work is undergoing to fully clean the area in order to secure it,” the SANA’s reporter said.
The SAA, backed by the Russian Aerospace Forces, liberated both Zur Shmir and al-Mayadin in 2017 following fierce clashes with ISIS terrorists.
In the last year, the army uncovered several ISIS workshops and ammo depots in Raqqa and Deir Ezzor. The terrorist group had located most of its strategic facilities in the two governorates believing that its enemies will not be able to reach them.
This is US secret network in Syria. Search under Damascus city how many workshops gonna be there. US is a terrorists financer.
MOSCOW SAYS RESULT OF UPCOMING RUSSIAN-US-ISRAELI MEETING IN JERUSALEM COULD STABILIZE SYRIA. LOL
12000 seems enough to rain-hell hasbara-rats…
I say deliver them back.
A major problem for Europe especially, but also for disaffected communities of the US as well, is the fact that ISIS were able to maunfacture such weapons and munitions in local workshops in very large numbers . Even ISIS ATGM’s have been produced. Mortars are even easier to make as well.
Europe and the US have hundreds of thousands of such workshops , and today the machines needed to make weapons and munitions are readily and cheaply available from local and online stores .Rudimentary explosives are also not a problem either.
I do hope that the security apparatus of the West is able to cope with the type of insurrection the West has effectively used against non aligned adversaries .
I somehow think Western security would fail dismally though and as a result , total chaos would follow. If terrorist mercenaries are willing to take the side of the US for the ability to plunder poor people in the Middle East, the prospect of plundering wealthy nations must be very tempting indeed, even without US support.
Like Canada bringing in the White Helmets, sad and crazy.
Exactly. Those in Britain have been given new identities and an income.
Accepting that the White Helmets are jihadists in a disguises provided by the UK regime , concludes with the reality that such criminals will never be satisfied with any amount of tax payer money given to them, and that all will become engaged in crime in the UK.
Seems they have a good bit of experience managing proxies. It almost seems that when terrorists leave the team their only solid motivation revolves around suicide.
Otherwise a certain amount of domestic mayhem seems to fulfill the Empire mandate rather nicely. It’s like when you are standing there at the airport waiting for them to strip search some bombshell and they hustle some drunken jihadis through, right past security.
And hustle a few on flights back to Israel as well :)
Yeah even though all civilian domestic flights have been grounded, for what was it, 4 days?
It was an emergency , Frankly.
Their ‘survivor’ cheques had arrived at home and needed to be banked. It was a totally humanitarian gesture for the US to get them home and reunited with their beloved cheques quickly :)
Follow the money.
Always, yes.
The read could also be : SAA has so weak control over the area, that IS could have major weapon production facilities, incl transport of workers, materiel and products, right under the nose of SAA , for a period of almost two years.
The lack of oversight, control, is astounding and freightening. In any case, SAA has an urgent need to implement better controls or is reponsable due to a lack of effort for control.
Too bad they have already been drilled for the explosives.
12,000 half ass shells made, wow. Perhaps ISIS could not make working fuse heads, and production was halted?
They weren’t making them, they were pulling the explosives out to use in other devices. There were lots of regime munitions captured that they couldn’t use so they cannibalized them for IEDs.
