Following a series of clashes with members of Ahrar al-Sham and Jaish Al-‘Izzah terrorist groups, the Syrian government forces have entered the strategic town of Souran in the northern part of Hama province.
The Syrian army’s Tiger Forces, the National Defense Forces (NDF), supported by Russian and Syrian warplanes and helicopters, were the leading force of the operation.
Preliminary reports suggest that the terrorists withdrew from Souran and it’s now under a full government control. At least 5 militants were killed in the clashes, according to pro-government forces.
UPD: It’s confirmed. The town is under the control of the army and its allies.
Prior to this the government forces were able to take control of the Al-Dour Hill east of Souran. So, the Syrian army’s artillery has an advantage over the joint terrorist forces.
The town of Souran is located at the strategic Aleppo-Hama highway.
