On February 22, the US-backed Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) announced that its fighters had captured the key village of al-Bahrah north of Hajin town in the province of Deir Ezzor after a 20 days-long battle with ISIS fighters inside and around it.
The media center of the SDF reported that the US-backed group had killed 1,176 fighters of ISIS during its operation in al-Bahrah. Moreover, US-led coalition warplanes and SDF fighters destroyed 16 mortar cannons, 17 VBIEDs, 26 vehicles, 2 armored vehicles, 2 BMP-1 vehicles, 7 monocycles, a rocket launcher and several other heavy weapons inside and around a-Bahrah, according to the source.
The SDF captured large parts of al-Bahrah village on February 14. However, ISIS fighters were able to launch several successful hit and run attacks against the SDF inside and around the village last week. This delayed the SDF’s operation there.
Locals sources reported that US-led coalition warplanes had conducted a series of airstrikes on ISIS positions and vehicles inside and around Hajin, 5km south of al-Bahrah. This could mean that Hajin will be the next target of the US-backed force.

There are no SDF in this area. The ONLY troops there are the US-paid, US-armed and trained ex-ISIS Arab tribal fighters known as the DMC. And just so everyone here understands the depth of the bullshit CENTCOM is spewing about the DMC killing 1,176 of their ISIS brothers, I give you the satellite image of the tiny, sparsely-populated village of al-Bahrah (Haijin is south of this area). The US has leveled damn near every last structure in the image so their worthless DMC could drive through for a few pictures and claim the area was ‘liberated’. Does this look like any kind of a place that 1,176+ ISIS could hold off a clearing force for an entire month?
