Syrian Democratic Forces Capture Two Villages In Southern Al-Hasakah (Video)

On July 4, the US-backed Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) captured the villages of Madinah and Qabr Taha in the framework of their military operation against the remaining cells of ISIS in the southern al-Hasakah countryside, according to the Kurdish Hawar News Agency (ANHA).

The SDF-linked news agency said that the SDF and the US-led coalition shelled ISIS’ positions in the two villages with heavy weapons, which forced the terrorist group’s fighters to withdrew.

US-backed forces resumed their military operation against ISIS in the southern al-Haskah countryside on July 1 and secured several areas. Currently, the SDF is only 5km north of the key area of Tuwaymin near the Syrian-Iraqi border.

According to a new report of the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, the US-led coalition and the SDF are planning to launch a fresh military operation against ISIS’ positions along the eastern bank of the Euphrates River.

While SOHR claims that the new military operation will begin “in the upcoming days,” the US-led coalition may delay the operation until the southern al-Hasakah countryside is fully secured.

SF, the work you do is great. Thank you very much. Can you clarify the nationality and backers of the armed groups you mention please. The SDF are US backed. Are they even Syrian? Thanks again. :)
