The US-backed Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) have captured 150km2 from ISIS in the northern countryside of Deir Ezzor since the official launch of the SDF operation in the province last weekend.

So far, the SDF has captured the Deir Ezzor industrial zone, the 113th Air Defense Base, Bi’r Hisyan as well as the nearby points and deployed in about 5km from the city.

US and Kurds are really asking for trouble.

LynFSN

absolutely…it is not the first severe provocation. According to unconfirmed reports, an SAA military convoy was once again attacked by “unidentified aircrafts” just yesterday. Today, civilians have been attacked by coalition aircrafts…and the SDF announces it would attack the SAA if one single bullet flies in their direction

John Whitehot

unconfirmed reports which remained unconfirmed, hence false.

LynFSN

It doesn´t matter if the report is confirmed or not in this particular incidece. What matters is a pattern that has repeated itsel over and over again, in Deir EzZor, Al Tanf, etc….

Solomon Krupacek

And you will slap them.

LynFSN

The Kurds are rather slaping themselves by acting that way, such a policy is unsustainable in the long run since they are a small minority. Just recently, Kurdish youth gangs looted Asyrian shops for selling alcohol and assaulted civilians near Quamishli. Sooner or later, as many observers predict, there will be a huge rebellion and the dream of great Kurdistan will be over once and for all if the Kurds do not reconsider their aggressive US puppet strategy .

Lumen

You dont get it, the huge rebellion happened already and it as opposed against assad regime. nothing will happen to the kurds.

Divesh Kumar

U mean huge rebellion proped but US and west stooges. Kurds are nothing but land grabbers…… SAA will crush them and US shall abandon them as they do best

dutchnational

Instead of all this rather stupid posturing, on both sides, it is better to keep on facts.

Fact is Assad abandoned the north east to Islamist gangs/jihadis and released at the time all Islamists still alive in his prisons.

This forced the kurds and others there to organise selfdefense, which they did. Aided by returning syrian PKK members, they quickly had a cadre of capable fighters, but with hardly any weapons.

Kurds with allies have retaken most of the north, aided as of late 2014 by US airforce and as of late 2016/early 2017 with major armsdeliveries.

SAA, seeing the success of SDF. fearing to lose the north east to the one survivable opposition group within Syria, started advances on IS in 2015/6, but were routed by IS near Tabqah because of bad strategies.

After SDF degraded much of IS capabilities, SAA, reinforced by, acc to some, of over 70k Hezbollah, Iranian, Iraqi and Afghan fighters and RuAF, were able to advance again against IS, skirting SDF frontlines direction Raqqah.

Only the last two months they were able to operate independently in the Badyia.

Now SDF is using the same tactic in its drive on DeZ, and the commenters here, praising the SAA tactics, are decrying those same tactics by SDF.

The future is open. Assad and SDF will have to learn to work together. They have no alternative as SAA cannot win a war against SDF (neither can SDF against the SAA, as they only operate in the north). If a war starts, SDF will only have to not lose and from a defensive position. Russia will not let Assad destroy the SAA in which they invested so much. They will enforce peace.

Igor Dano

Why don’t you go to Jerusalem Post?

Divesh Kumar

“Fact is Assad abandoned the north east to Islamist gangs/jihadis and released at the time all Islamists still alive in his prisons.” you seem to be one of the released jihadist thugs…. Anyways pls note that everything is right with what Kurds are doing except for the dreams of a separate state. If they had fought with SAA then they would have been the biggest heroes of this war but being aligned with perpretors who caused this carnage makes them villain…… Take my word US shall abandon them one day or other….

Deo Cass

There was no rebellion. There was a foreign colonial invasion of Syria by foreign mecenaries on the payroll of the US and co. The Kurds will have to return to Turkey where they belong. Syria belongs to the Syrians not the Zionist Kurdish invaders and their US/Zio-Nazi colonial masters.

Solomon Krupacek

i assume, the kurds will get something. the yanks creat kurdistan on territory of 1/3 syria and iraq. turkey shift its kuerds in his kurdistan. and verybody will be happy. next step will be kurdistan and israel in the nato.

everybody think, for turky is always wrong idea kurdistan. but it can be also useful for them. they can say: you hev already independant state. move there.

χρηστος

the great fear of Turkey is that the Kurdistan state will take its land also since there is a huge majority of Kurds in the eastern borders.

Behold a Pale Horse

If the Kurds steal the Russian’s oil expect Turkey to be given the green light.

Jasminko Grdic

After all this the kurds will be less then before the war started. They should be happy with what they have around 1 year ago and this was 3-4 x times more then before. Now they want 10 time more and hope that Israel will give them a country in Iran,Iraq (today announce a fire free on Kurds) and Syria, and Russia with Turkey will see how Kurds become a Oil rich land and fight for the Pipelines.

wwinsti

That’s the Kurdish trump card-

**Israel**

John Brown

Turkey got the green light when Russia agreed to sell the the S-400 to Turkey which they need to shoot down USA and Israeli aircraft when this new phase of the war starts.

Moussa Saab

There should be negotiations about Kurds between Syria, Russia, Turkey, and Iraq. Only then we can expect a solution whether it be peaceful, or through war.

John Brown

The only thing slowing down the advance of the SDF to Deir Azur is how fast they can give the ISIS units there new SDF uniforms!

Rob

And then 10% Kurds will rule on 90% Syrian Arabs like 10% Israeli refugees ruling on 90% Palestinian Arabs to destabilize whole Middle East region.

John Brown

Maybe it will happen like that, maybe not. From the pictures of the Arabs joining the SDF they are ISIS Arabs with ISIS flags. Will they get along in the long term? Likely no. Will the entire Turkish armed forces attack the Kurds Americans and Israelis in Syria and Iraq, along with the full military support of Syria, Iraq Iran, Russia and China?? Very likely Yes. Will the federal reserve private Jewish dollar still exist and have any value 1 year from now? Likely it will not exist and have no value. Will the entire racist supremacist global Jewish slave vassal empire the USA, the EU etc. have totally economically and militarily collapsed in the next few years? Very likely yes.

FlorianGeyer

We live in hope that natural justice will punish the US and and her cabal of Zionist thieves will fail as all Empires have failed throughout history.

dutchnational

As kurds are now some 15% of Syrian population and the SDF controls only, as of yet, some 25% of the population, kurds are a majority in the lands controlled by SDF.

Unless you mean to say kurds will controll all of Syria?

Moussa Saab

Kurds are some 8% of the population. Pre-war there was 23million Syrians in total and 1.8 million Kurds in Syria.

dutchnational

Soory, pal.

Does not cut it.

Firstly, we do not have the prewar situation, the population shrank with some 6 million.

Those that fled were mostly sunnis. Kurds from Aleppo (some 600k) fled to Afrin. Kurds from Kobane fled to Turkey (400k) but most returned in 2015/16/17.

There were half a million kurds in Syria not counted as those had their nationality taken away in 1961, with their descendants now 500k+

Alltogether, in the present situation, kurds are some 15%, some say more, or about 2.5 to three million. Let is say 2.5 million which is app 15% of the present population.

Terra Cotta Woolpuller

Hundreds of thousands of Kurds fled Syria and might end up becoming Turks again.

dutchnational

Yes, those returned mostly in 2015/2016/2017 after Kobane victory and reconstruction started a few months later. Extensive reporting on return and reconstruction on internet. Kobane city already close to 100k (was some 5k late 2014) people and the countryside (the large majority) repopulated. They had bumper harvest in 2016 and 2017. Almost enough to feed a large part of Syria.

Terra Cotta Woolpuller

They haven’t returned they will possibly not return, Kobane was never a Kurdish city. Just shows they are racially exterminating the Minority groups there.

Deo Cass

So right. The true name of the town is Ghajn Arab, (the well of the Arabs) to completely dispel this myth that it ever was a Kurdish land. As for Turkey, Erdogan made a deal with the Americans and his friend Berzani, the so called Kurdistan leader of Iraq, to relocate Turkey’s Kurdish population to Syria and Iraq, while Turkey would take on the Arab population. As we speak, this mass ethnic cleansing of the Arab population especially from Syria but also Iraq is ongoing. There is no such thing as the return of the Kurds to Syria. The Kurds do not belong there.

Deo Cass

Your mathematics is ridiculous sorry. The Kurdish population had their own area which was the tip of North Eastern Syria bordering Iraq. They are not native there either, as they were given refuge there by the Syrian government to protect them from Turkish persecution. 90% of the lands occupied by the Kurds and the so called SDF are Arab with a large Christian minority. If we follow your logic, then China, which has 1/5 of the Earth’s population should occupy 1/5 of the Earth’s land, basically almost all of Asia, with India another 1/5! That’s how non sensical your equation is!

Justin

Kurds are stalling Raqqa offensive so they can STEAL oil fields in Syria! Same as isis did!

Syria has Hezbollah, NDF, Iraqi paramilitary, Iranian soldiers (and plenty more where they came from) PLUS Russia forces!

Even though many ISIS fighters will shave their beards and join the SDF it won’t make a difference!

RamboDave

But, it also takes them a bit longer for ISIS to shave their beards before putting on the new SDF uniforms.

Carol Binkley

Who controls Sakr Island at the moment?

dutchnational

IS

Carol Binkley

Between rivers?

Kira Mia

dutchnational

They held it fot years and still can use small boats, even though there are no bridges.

Carol Binkley

Do you know how wide the river is there? Puts me in mind of Shenandoah– http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IDkFG44AXwU

Graeme Rymill

150 metres – 200 metres roughly

Carol Binkley

A meter is about a yard, so are you saying only about 2 football fields wide? Doesn’t seem like much. That would be the Euphrates, the river on the north, right?

Graeme Rymill

150 metres is 164 yards; 200 metres is 218 yards.

Yes the main channel of the Euphrates is north of Sakr Island. There is a very narrow channel south of Sakr separating it from the rest of Deir Ezzor city.

Carol Binkley

I did say “about”.

This southern narrow channel, is it man-made?

Graeme Rymill

lol..I don’t know how wide a football field is so I gave you the precise measurements. I think the narrow channel is natural but i don’t know.

Carol Binkley

The length of a football field, (American football) is 100 yards, My husband taught me to use that to approximate distances, and be able to visualize their significance.

I love American football for its “strategy”. Believe it or not.

John Brown

What ever ISIS controls in this part of Syria the SDF controls as they are now one in the same.

Terra Cotta Woolpuller

Saqr Island was taken by the SAA earlier today , as they have advanced east along both sides of the river. The were Tigers and Russian specfor advancing North towards the Industrial zone, they didn’t see any SDF either. They used Syria special naval forces who are trained for water assaults and they completely surprised and overwhelmed ISIS in their first action on land.

Terra Cotta Woolpuller

Syria controls it and the east side of the river as they have brought up more reserves , they can bring some more eventually as they finish the pocket off . They have more fronts being fought and still continue to hammer in the Ayn Tarma pocket ,they blew the tunnel on a surprise attack killing and burying a large advance a few escaped. Never trust the reports this is an information game as they are trying to make the Syrian army reveal where they are.

dutchnational

The map is not completely up to date. Yesterday evening SDF captured Salhiya, 2 miles from the river bank. Now they are at ….?

John Brown

The SDF did not capture Salhiya they just walked into it, hugged ISIS soldiers as the Israeli army does on the Israeli Golan border. The SDF also gave the ISIS rapists, murderers, sex slave sellers, child sex killers etc brand new SDF uniforms.

dutchnational

So please refer me to a honest site where I can find this amazing info. PS, do not bother to refer me either to IS or someone like partisangirl. She is a “partisan” girl.

Terra Cotta Woolpuller

No you are just an Anarcho -Communist the true died wool hardcore black shirt fascist.

Lumen

lol. on another thread you cried when SDF executed 400 ISIS. now you say they give them SDF-uniforms. Now what shall they do? execute or give them uniforms?

John Brown

Wrong completely Lumen! I never said anything like that at all. Prove it. I was the one who said I doubt they were executed and that they had likely joined the SDF and I was right. I am much more intelligent then you will ever be because you can’t overcome the brain washing of your slave masters. You are very limited in how you think, only inside the box. The SDF did not have the manpower to march on Deir Azur, even unopposed, before the SDF recruited those 400 ISIS terrorists and thousands of other ISIS child sex killers in the last couple of weeks.

dutchnational

The 400 they (SDF) recruited last month were tribal fighters fighting with SAA in Raqqah south. They were abandoned by SAA and their commanders when IS counterattacked, lost a lot of men and were very angry. They joined the SDF after fleeing towards them and are now part of the DMC, fighting in DeZ north against IS and maybe next week against the SAA that deserted them.

John Brown

You are such a liar and a racist supremacist member of Mossad. That is all the so called master superior race can come up with?? Ouch! The pictures prove it, ISIS one day SDF the next, you lose Mossad. You are now so corrupt you have no come backs any more. Can’t anyone get fired in the Mossad any more for being totally stupid? Your racist supremacist empire is doomed. The collapse s coming much sooner then I or anyone else ever thought

Serious

Bomb them.

FlorianGeyer

That is a thoughtful and typically moronic statement from you serious. Have you been accepted for a post in the State Dept yet by the way ?

Serious

Bomb them and say it was a mistake.

Orcbuu

Well if you are american, everybody in the World knows that you are Stupid and Stupid People do mistakes all the Time, maby thats why nobody ever says something! But when Russia Bombs them 1 Time and says it was a Mistake Nobody will Believe them.

If you who reads this knows “WHY” you are not as stupid as some People who Bomb on Mistake ;^)

FlorianGeyer

Then issue another statement saying that the US Military Learns by its Mistakes .

Alex

I wonder if the sdf will be outsmarted like fsa, when saa found another another way to cross the border into IRAQ back at Al Tanf

DJ Double D

There is no reason why the Kurds should have been allowed to capture the Deir ez-Zur – Al Suwar road or allowed to cut it off. Whatever the case, this very important road should be in SAA hand. Time will come when SAA and Russian military strategists will regret a lot of strategic mistakes in this war.

FlorianGeyer

And I suppose you could do better ‘DJ Double D’ when confronted by totally depraved terror gangs of many tens of thousands, often from around the globe, including violent thugs released from prisons to fight Jihad .

ALL of them trained ,armed, supplied and funded by:- America, Saudi Arabia, Israel,Gulf States, most NATO countries, Britain Australia, New Zealand, Jordan, Ukraine, Georgia, Canada, and a few more of the wealthiest nations in the world.

The SAA and her loyal allies have stood tall against all these odds since 2011 and liberated vast tracts of Syrian lands that had descended into a cruel barbarity not seen for hundreds of years where enslaved women and young girls are abused by filthy and often drug crazed men.

What strategy would you have used Double D ?

‘Bomb em’ I suppose if you are a Neo Liberal Libtard.

John Wallace

New Zealand has been training Iraqi troops to fight ISIS , nothing to do with SDF or any other group in Syria. Some idiots may have sent money to the White Helmets in ignorant belief they were helping civilians . So please get your facts straight or one lie makes it impossible to believe any other single thing you say

Orcbuu

If you are a Weapons and arms Dealer(Training Included), you will make much much more money if you Sell it to both of them ;) A small Businesstip for you, From the Globalist Military Industrial Complex.

Solomon Krupacek

he is fanatic russian commie. he makes dirty the discussion also in almasdarnews.

Terra Cotta Woolpuller

The unfortunate truth is these countries were involved in the training just not the recruitment That type o f vetting was done by the sorry ass GCC countries and Israel. They are truly to blame for the mess we have but NATO led by the US calls the shots also their PIC the UK ,France and Germany. They were all down in Jordan training these “well vetted fighters”, that is being sarcastic there.

FlorianGeyer

I think its better that you lot spend more time with your sheep John bleat elsewhere.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_continue=175&v=b6db5q-aQ3A

Solomon Krupacek

somehow you are not so optimistic like 2 weeks ago :P

RichardD

You just want Syria to lose so Jews can keep raping babies.

Solomon Krupacek

no, but i am realistic. and i need not change opinion every two weeks

RichardD

Saying that Jew oral suction circumcision isn’t statutory rape, as you’ve done. Isn’t realistic, it’s lying.

Lumen

you forgot to mention that the most vile jihadis come from Chechenia or china

FlorianGeyer

Many miscreants are indeed from Chechnya and China and indeed Europeand the US et al are indeed in ISIS . However it is the West who is training and fermenting medieval hatred with these deluded souls. In fact a very senior ISIS leader who was TRAINED IN AMERICA has very recently been eradicated in a Russian air attack.

John Wallace

Instead of telling me to go and fuck sheep because I called you out on your statement New Zealand was training arming and supplying Jihadists / terrorists in Syrian why don’t you come up with facts / Truth . I have no statement on the other countries because some of them I agree are heavily involved , and some I have no idea but I do know that New Zealand has had no involvement in Syria. Yes they have been and still training Iraqi troops outside of Baghdad too fight ISIS but that is a long stretch too say they are complicit with bullshit in Syria. Give me FACTS , not supposition , not maybe , not assumptions but FACTS. I have supported Assad since day one of this bullshit and have followed everything that is and has happened closely so don;t make bullshit wide sweeping statements that contain untruths which make you no better than the bullshit coming out of America. As for that standing New Zealand joke that was probably started by a jealous Aussie . don’t knock fucking sheep till you try it , you may like it better than fucking camels.

FlorianGeyer

Any government that is part of the US coalition and supplying military assets is by definition supporting medieval terrorism, either directly, inadvertently or by default. The US has only this week been exposed for covertly continuing the supply of arms and ammunition to terrorist groups that are transferred to other groups. This is after after Trump ordered the CIA and Military to stop. The US gains much from chaos of war via selling arms to its fearful and cowardly vassals , also from the ensuing chaos and by ensuring the fealty of warlords they put and keep in power. These warlords then loot the citizens of their nations wealth .The Saudi Royals being one of the first.

A past example template for this behaviour was the British East India Company. That is s fascinating history of greed and avarice in itself. Even your presence in ‘New Zealand’ have issues in themselves and as you doubtless know it was a Dutchman who was the first European to discover the already INHABITED Islands.

Any country that associates with the US in her endless wars of aggression should feel abject shame . New Zealand has a past history of military valour. There is nothing that invokes any honour for what your country is doing now.

Your war dead will be turning in their graves.

With regard to the camels, do you prefer one hump or two in New Zealand ?

John Wallace

Thanks , I agree with most of what you say. I find one hump is better although others prefer two , maybe it is an age thing.

FlorianGeyer

I have gained a little wisdom with age and now admire the grace of camels from a distance.

Serious

SDF must give back the lands stolen.

John Wallace

An obvious move too prevent Syria from crossing the river and taking control of all the oil fields and land south of that highway 7 upto the Iraq border. Problems sooner or later.

RamboDave

The SDF merely took what was undefended. The oil resources are to the East of the land that the SDF has captured, and they are very overextended now and stalled and ISIS is counteracting them. This is not over yet. Tomorrow could be the big day for the SAA to leap frog over the river and move toward the al-Suwar area, where a lot of oil is, and grab it.

RichardD

https://www.armyrecognition.com/images/stories/news/2016/october/At_military_exercise_Caucasus_2016_Russian_armed_forces_tested_latest_river_crossing_equipment_640_001.jpg

RichardD

I agree with Terra Cotta Woolpuller’s observation from another thread, there’s a news black out on Syrian government coalition military activity on the east side of the river. With what’s at stake, and with the ease that the river can be crossed by various means, it’s highly unlikely that Syrian government coalition military activity is confined to the west side of the river.

I’m sure that they’re actively engaging Jew world order forces on the east side of the river in multiple locations. And that personnel and equipment are flowing across the river around the clock in support of this. It’s just being kept out of the news for now for operational security.

Dear friend, please, don’t make comments with a single picture. In the future, this approach will be considered as a spam and such comments will be deleted. Sincerely yours, SF Team

RichardD

Are pictures with descriptions OK?

dutchnational

Single pictures like this one suggest it is an SAA vehicle crossing the Euphrates, which it is not. Had you said this a picture of an exercise on date xyz in location xyy, SF might have had another opinion. SF is right. By omitting facts to are indeed misleading.

RichardD

You’r false accusations don’t make it true. I’m not misleading anyone. You just want the baby rapers to win. Everything that you post here is against Syria winning the war. People can make up their own minds what the pictures are. They don’t need your Syria should lose the war comments to determine what the pictures are or aren’t.

Solomon Krupacek

you should be banned for your nazi propaganda.

RichardD

It’s called truth. If it was propaganda you’d disprove it, which you can’t, rather than tell lies, liar.

southfront

Dear friend, SF does not want to implement an automated moderation system that prevents people from posting comments with some kind of visual content. However, we pointed out your case because you posted few pictures without descriptions in a row. This could be considered as a spam. You can find that other people use pictures, videos or memes in the comment section. If we see that they do it in a row, they will also attract attention of SF’s moderator. If you have examples of spam in comments that you see right now, please, provide a link. Sincerely yours, SF Team

RichardD

I’m not trying to spam anything. And I don’t think that the pictures meet the definition of spam. The pictures that I’ve posted are very relevant to the articles and my written comments. If they were commercial advertising or unrelated material to the comment thread that are an abuse of the forum. That’s spam as defined by the dictionary.

“you posted few pictures without descriptions in a row. This could be considered as a spam.”

If the pictures without descriptions were unrelated to the article and comments and were just wasting thread space with irrelevant material that detracts from the forum, that would meet the definition of spam as defined by dictionaries and articles on spamming. If they are relevant to the material being discussed and help people to gain a better understanding of what the article is about, that doesn’t meet any definition of spamming that I’m familiar with.

It’s your job to differentiate between relevant material that makes a positive contribution, and irrelevant material that’s just wasting space and meets the definition of spamming. If you’re familiar with a different definition of spamming then what I’ve described. Please share the source of the definition.

RichardD

The future of Syria and the middle east depends on standing up air defense systems at DE sufficient to allow the Kurds to brought under Syrian government control. If that happens. The same fate awaits them that has happened to all of the other Jew world order regime change elements in Syria.

mitar

All that is needed for SAA is to take some ISiS uniforms and flags and start attacking SDF on the left bank of the river…

Barba_Papa

Livemap has it that the SAA has crossed the Euphrates south of Deir Ezzor.

dutchnational

Commenters say it is fake news.

Floyd Hazzard

Captured? More like ISIS ceded the area of the advance in the hopes of making the two armies clash or at least to tie up their forces on fronts they have to guard.
