The Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), supported by US-led coalition warplanes, have reportedly cut off all roads to Manbij and encircled this ISIS-controlled city in Northern Syria. According to ground sources, ISIS militants still have options to deliver supplies to the besieged city, however, this is very complicated.
Now, ISIS militants are making attemtts to re-open the western corridor to Manbij. Heavy clashes are ongoing there.
Recently, SDF units, managed by US special operation forces, have liberated the villages of Jub al-Tawil, Jub al-Qadir, Ratouniyah, Ghazawiya, Mugharat, Khirbet al-Aswad, Kharfan, Jariyat and Medanê al-Saghir. Since the start of the operation in the area 11 days ago, the SDF has liberated from ISIS some 90 villages at the eastern bank of Euphrates.
More than 159 terrorists ISIS have been killed in the clashes. In turn, the SDF lost some 22 fighters and 1 US special operation forces serviceman was injured.
According to sources, the most of the ISIS militants were killed in US-led air raids, however, such statements look questionable because of a low effectiveness of the aviations against dispersed targets.
