The predominantly Kurdish Syrian Democratic Forces are massing troops and military equipment in order to start the long-awaited offensive on the ISIS-controlled city of Raqqa.
Rumors, that the Kurds are preparing a US-backed offensive on Raqqa, have been circulating since 2015. However, the situation on the ground and the SDF’s military capabilities haven’t allowed to launch it earlier.
